You have confidence in Palace finishing at least 16th?

Swansea actually went one further and won a trophy though, thus qualifying for Europe.

I think that's the reason for the documentary. That and they play one of the best brands of football these days.

Lets be realistic here, we will be in and around the bottom 3 most of the season. If we give it our all i will be happy.

I was originally going to put that, but still - the actual story was about them being 90 minutes away from non-league and then going on to becoming a Prem side.

They could have easily done the same for us. Just don't make the programme as long.

Possibly, but you didn't achieve anything like what Swansea have done in the Prem.

They could have made one about Wigan too though, which is actually a bigger story than Swansea really as they are a smaller club and actually won the better cup.

The trophy was faetured very little- it was all about the resurrection and progress up the leagues - with the fans having a stake in the running of the club. No Brendan Rogers, very little Laudrup. plenty of Martinez.

The brand of football was to all intents and purposes irrelevant.

The documentary was virtually all about the story of their ascendancy from the bottom of League 2 to promotion to the Prem.

It had very little on what they have done since they were promoted.

In that case, why couldn't there have been a similar one for us? Ours was just as an amazing feat, if not better.

It was a BBC Wales commissioned documentary.
Look forward to playing you this season. Think you'll stay up. Bruce knows what's needed to stay in this division.

Maybe they could do one about Leeds - like a reverse Swansea?

From Champions of Europe (<laugh>), to lower league also-rans losing to Histon etc

I think they might have done something like that if memory serves.

But Portsmouth are doing a far better job at it than us, and they haven't done yet....

    Fair point.

They seem well and truly ****ed. Can't build a new stadium even if they had the money etc

Sure - we'd all have tuned in to watch a program about Stoke ... come on Aggie get up to speed, the Swans are fast becoming a particular favorite of neutral supporters ... and with Laudrup in charge, not just in this country - but you don't think the documentary makers considered that?

That's precisely why I don't like them. I hate it when the media collectively **** themselves blind over a team.

... but that's the media - don't see why that's a reason to dislike a team, particularly one that plays football like they do ... I might start to dislike them when people in the Home Counties start wandering around in replica Swans kits mind!

The documentary was made by BBC Wales, it was a local production and was shown in Wales first.
