Alright lads, might start coming back on here a bit more now with the season starting soon enough.

Firstly though, any chance of answering a few questions for an 'article' I'm planning for an Everton forum?

Here's the questions, I'm sure you'll all be impartial <whistle>, honestly don't need that many answer, ill probably pick the that reflect opinion most for each question.

    1) What's your opinion on Everton's new manager Roberto Martinez?

    2) What do you make of our new signings? (Kone, Joel Robles, Alcaraz and Deulofeu)

    3) Do you think you'll finish above us next season? why?

    4) Where do you see Everton finishing next season?

    5) In the next 5-10 years, do you think Everton will continue to progress, stagnate or decline now David Moyes has left the club?

If people respond to this thread, thanks a lot. If no one responds then **** the lot of yer.

I reckon he's a good manager but I'm surprised you've gone for an attacking manager when looking at the best players in your squad, you are clearly better suited to defending. Maybe that's why Moyes started a more attacking system last year and brought in the likes of Mirallas to get your squad used to it. As expected Martinez is continuing the acquisition of attacking players, the ex-Wigan players will add some stability and Deulofeu is a great addition even if only for 1 year. I just can't see us finishing below you again, we are settled in now with our manager and his ideas and with or without Suarez I think we will finish above a team that has to get used to a new manager with very different ideas to Moyes. That being said I still expect you to do well and will probably finish 7th or maybe 8th at worst if one of the likes of Southampton or Swansea (who have both strengthened a lot) have a good season. In the next 10 years I think Everton will average 7th but will move around quite a bit. I'm guessing you'll have a season finishing in Europa League places followed by a season finishing 9th for example. Though I do think you are more likely to win a trophy with Martinez.

    Welcome back Shogs.

    1) What's your opinion on Everton's new manager Roberto Martinez? - He tries to play good footy but is naive in defence.

    2) What do you make of our new signings? (Kone, Joel Robles, Alcaraz and Deulofeu) - All good players but nothing special.

    3) Do you think you'll finish above us next season? why? - Yes we will, I think martinez will struggle to keep you top half.

    4) Where do you see Everton finishing next season? - About mid table.

    5) In the next 5-10 years, do you think Everton will continue to progress, stagnate or decline now David Moyes has left the club? - Martinez will keep you top half and on occasion into the European slots.

    Ok

    1) yes martinez is a decent manager but glad Liverpool didn't choose him

    2) signings are 'ok' but nothing that sets the pulse racing.

    3) yes I do

    4) below Liverpool

    5) I think you will remain a top 10 club until you get some serious backing. However, it's important that you hang on to your best players. If you loose 2 or 3 of those then you could struggle mid table.

    1) What's your opinion on Everton's new manager Roberto Martinez?

I do like him and respect his attacking philosophy - however I feel he is tactically naive and is far too concerned with attack, and not enough with his defence. My concern is that Everton are a solid team defensively, and RM's style could compromise this.

    2) What do you make of our new signings? (Kone, Joel Robles, Alcaraz and Deulofeu)

I'm a fan of Kone and I think he will do well. Deulofeu is an exciting prospect so it will be interesting to see how he will turn out.

    3) Do you think you'll finish above us next season? why?

Yes I do - I feel our squad is stronger and I think you may struggle initially because of the completely contrasting between Everton of last year and what RM will bring. I do think he will be a success but it will take time.

    4) Where do you see Everton finishing next season?

Difficult to say but I think you'll be 2-3 places below so I'll say 8-10?

honest opinion, no wind ups etc etc.

    1) What's your opinion on Everton's new manager Roberto Martinez?

Always gave LFC a good comment despite his manc chairman whelan mouthing. Honeslty he has never shown in his time an abilty to really put a good defense together. Tried pretty stuff unitl post christmas each year then they went long ball. Did show tactical flexibility two years ago with a 3-4-3

    2) What do you make of our new signings? (Kone, Joel Robles, Alcaraz and Deulofeu)

Kone is a donkey. Don't get it, you have two guys better than him already. No comment on others bar the barca kid might be a star if he tries a leg. spanish loan bit lfc last year but if htis kid wants it he could be a star.

    3) Do you think you'll finish above us next season? why?

This is simple. I don't know what martinez will do with your team. I've seen the same defenders you have struggle badly at times and a system of play could mean you lose more at the start.

I think LFC can finish higher depending on thier start. Frankly LFC might not have a striker at the start given suarez is out or off and sturridge has yet to surface while borini is anonymous so far.

Simply put we've made changes so they need to be proved, just like everton. I fancy the side that settles faster will top the other. I think mingolet and toure will settle fast, i think we've goals in us and coutinho could make the difference

BUT hang on this is 6th we are talking about and 6th is nowhere. I think spurs will take 4th and unless arsenal actually make a signing stick they will be 5th.

    4) Where do you see Everton finishing next season?

6th to 7th. If they perform. I could easily see you in 15th if martinez fails to get things right. AND if felliani and baines actually get sold before aug 31.

    5) In the next 5-10 years, do you think Everton will continue to progress, stagnate or decline now David Moyes has left the club?

Honestly looking at your finances and squad size it'll take a big job on martinez part to replicate the moyes job. you can't afford a mistake. I see no means for you to "progress" bar actually trying to win the carling cup rather than moyes annual only the fa cup approach. Win a cup <ok>

I can't see you consistently stay 6th for ext 5 years.

Alright Shogs good to see you back lad <ok>

    I'll answer these as well, to give a Blue perspective;

    1) What's your opinion on Everton's new manager Roberto Martinez?

I think he's a nice bloke, but to me he flatters to deceive. He's not used to living in a managerial world where results are key - EVERY week & my fear in the pursuit of attaining his 'style', he'll throw the baby out with the bath water at Goodison & undo years of hard work by the previous regime. We don't need a revolution on the pitch at Goodison, we need a subtle change of emphasis at times & a willingness to strangle the opposition when we're on top, but I fear he'll turn us into a side that sieves goals.

    2) What do you make of our new signings? (Kone, Joel Robles, Alcaraz and Deulofeu)

Robles is a decent back up / challenger for Howard's shirt, He's certainly better than Mucha. Alcaraz is a good CB & so on a free is good business. Kone - meh, he's nothing better than what we've got imo & @ £6.5m for a bloke who'll turn 30 this season, not the best buy & certainly not what we needed if we're to push on from 6th. Deulofeu could be a really exciting signing, he's been guaranteed playing time, so if he can adapt to the PL, we could see some fireworks from him & I've been told that if it goes well for him here this season, that Barca have said they'd be open to extending the loan for a 2nd season given the lads age.

    3) Do you think you'll finish above us next season? why?

It's a big season for Brenda this one, his soundbites about 'transition' won't be accepted this time round, he's going to be expected to deliver a strong challenge for 4th & I'm not sure he'll achieve that. Albeit I think it's highly likely that they'll finish ahead of us.

    4) Where do you see Everton finishing next season?

Tough one to call, could be anywhere between 6th & 12th, I don't see us struggling as we've too much quality in the squad, but I can see inconsistency plaguing us, certainly in the first few months.

    5) In the next 5-10 years, do you think Everton will continue to progress, stagnate or decline now David Moyes has left the club?

Unless Kenwright moves on & sells the club to someone with the vision, the passion, the resources & the desire, to move the club forwards, I fear a gradual decline. Moyes kept us way ahead of where we realistically should have been in the PL, given our finances, I doubt that over a sustained period Martinez will be able to manage the same feat. The future is bleak whilst the current board remain in situ imo.

    1) What's your opinion on Everton's new manager Roberto Martinez?
Good 'project' manager, has time (age) and enthusiasm on his side. Likes to play good-looking football, which is refreshing but tactically and defensively not the best, which may cause problems.

    2) What do you make of our new signings? (Kone, Joel Robles, Alcaraz and Deulofeu)
I think Deulofeu is a nice buy, you better hope he doesn't get bullied in this league and gets a chance to show what he is about.

    3) Do you think you'll finish above us next season? why?
I do because on paper we have the better team, our managers' honeymoon is over and I suspect Everton will drop-off somewhat after losing Moyes.

    4) Where do you see Everton finishing next season?
7/8 but as many have said, if Martinez doesn't get things to click, could be a lot lower.

    5) In the next 5-10 years, do you think Everton will continue to progress, stagnate or decline now David Moyes has left the club?
Moyes is a great miser. Could stabilise your position and over achieved with the crop he had. It is all dependent on whether Martinez hits the ground running for the next couple of years, but in the long run, without investment and Kenwright running the club I don't see the stability there was. I suspect decline.

    Now piss off <whistle>

    1) What's your opinion on Everton's new manager Roberto Martinez?

Think he's decent. Would actually be interesting to see how he does at a (slightly) bigger club.

    2) What do you make of our new signings? (Kone, Joel Robles, Alcaraz and Deulofeu)

Kong - Better than Naismith and the other guy.
    Joel Rolleston - Who?
Alcaraz - Decent and safe signing for RB
Deulofeu - Would be interesting to see how he does.

P.S Auto correct changed some of the name.

    3) Do you think you'll finish above us next season? why?

    Yes, change.

    4) Where do you see Everton finishing next season?

    Just behind us. 7th.

    5) In the next 5-10 years, do you think Everton will continue to progress, stagnate or decline now David Moyes has left the club?

    You'll probably win something now.

    1. Some good football and the cup win was great, but perhaps not consistent enough for an entire league season.
    2. Decent improvements to squad for a club of your ambition.
    3. Yes. We finished above Wigan.
    4. 9th.
    5. Decline, but because of money not Moyes.

  14. 1) What's your opinion on Everton's new manager Roberto Martinez?

He did alright at Wigan but they did gradually go backwards in terms of the league. He will get you playing better football but needs to take is time implementing any changes. Good appointment IMO but don't expect too much this season.

    2) What do you make of our new signings? (Kone, Joel Robles, Alcaraz and Deulofeu)

Deulofeu is a very good signing so long as he adjusts the England. Kone did well last year and will give Jelavic sone much needed competition/support. I think you already had better than Alcaraz but he knows how JM works. I know nothing of Robles.

    3) Do you think you'll finish above us next season? why?

Yes. We have a more settled side that showed clear signs of improvement towards the end of last season. Of course, it all depends on whats happens in.the transfer market, especially around Baines, Felliani and Suarez.

    4) Where do you see Everton finishing next season?

Seventh. I don't see you doing as well as last year but nor will you drop away. I reckon we'll just swap places.

    5) In the next 5-10 years, do you think Everton will continue to progress, stagnate or decline now David Moyes has left the club?

Stagnate a bit at first but after a season or two JM will get you guys to kick on. However, without investment I don't think you can improve much more than last season.

    1) What's your opinion on Everton's new manager Roberto Martinez?
Frankly I've never been sold on him. I'm glad we never agreed a deal with him. Wigan perhaps should have been relegated long before last season and credit should go to Martinez for keeping them in there for so long. However Everton are not a relegation team and the fans expect more and expect consistency which he's never been able to deliver before.

    2) What do you make of our new signings? (Kone, Joel Robles, Alcaraz and Deulofeu)
All crap except Deulofeu, Everton have better at the club already. Its not going to improve the first XI, it will add extra depth but then again its extra (higher) wages to pay. Deulofeu is an interesting one, he's tipped for great things but it'll be the first season of top level football, so it'll be interesting to see how he reacts to it.

    3) Do you think you'll finish above us next season? why?
Yes, On paper we have a better squad (if Suarez stays and much better if we can get some of the transfer targets we've been linked to). New manager for Everton means new tactics etc to adapt to in what could be make or break for the club and Martinez. Think alot of Evertons success in the league has been down to stability and Moyes getting the best out of the players.

    4) Where do you see Everton finishing next season?
8th- 10th. If you lose Baines and Fellaini even lower.

    5) In the next 5-10 years, do you think Everton will continue to progress, stagnate or decline now David Moyes has left the club?
Decline. Without a new owner Everton are going to struggle. Moyes did alot to keep the club as high as possible with a limited squad and resources. Frankly Everton have been over achieving in recent years there is an inevitable drop coming (this does not mean Relegation) without new funding.

    1) Couldnt shut the back door at Wigan, what makes you think he will do the same here... I know a lad who used to work with him at Wigan and said he was one of the best blokes you could ever wish to meet... Nice blokes dont win owt though...!!!

    2) Not totally sure if they will make a big impact for you this year... Time will see...

    3) Yes, and its down to the fact you have no money to buy any big quality players in and we might have £40m in the bank soon to do so...!!!

    4) Closer to 10th than 5th...

    5) Tough one but all fingers point to Billy Kenwright and what investment he can bring in...

I wish you well shogs as like most of us scousers we know people from both sides of the city, one of my best friends is a blue nose and he shares most of the thoughts i have really...
