Well with Cairney and Evans on the way out one has to think Bruce knows he will bring in a quality midfielder.

Methinks we will see Jenas or Parker in a City shirt come the Chelsea game.

Which, if I am right, will only be a good thing. <ok>

I can't believe anyone actually thinks Scott Parker might sign for City.

    Not a chance.

I think it is a good move to send Cairney out.

I'm a little disappointed that Evans is going though - I actually thought that he could potentially be good enough to get a place in the side this season. Though, Bruce clearly didn't have too much faith, even last season.

Really hope he does well at Blackburn, and comes back even better. (Should it be confirmed)

Cairney has 6 months left so he is basically gone.

How much time does Evans have left on his contract?

I don't think he will sign tbf, but it can't be ruled out until it has been swept aside by official sources.

Of the two I would certainly expect Jenas to be more likely a City player.

I hope Cairney gets game time there otherwise its a very pointless move for him. If Evans goes i won't be to disappointed he was poor numerous times last year and he really isn't good enough to be a holding midfielder. Only issue is if we are trying to play three in middle we will be a bit short if we don't sign at least two.

Off a couple of transfer sites (not that stupid football-rumours site though), one of them also published something about Jenas as well.

I think CI might have mentioned it as well.

Still no confirmation of Evans going.

Strange we would allow 2 to go without being at the medicals stage with replacements.

Still can't see it happening, and if it did i'd be worried there is something dodgy about it(knackered knee ?). When i first heard the news,we might be about to sign Bullard, for £5m,i instinctively knew there was something wrong, and this,if true, feels the same. Even though he would be a loan,he'd certainly cost a lot in wages.

Agree completely with City1904, Evans just isn't good enough. He's forever pinging 50 yard balls out of play. One day if he learns to stick to what he's good at and keep it simple on the ball he might be a good player but in the last two seasons he just hasn't been good enough.

We will now need two midfielders signing IMO.

I really hope the Blackburn deal works out well for Tom. He's certainly a gifted player, and over the past few seasons there have been some glimpses of excellence from him, however it's fair to say that he's failed to unlock the potential many thought he once possessed. He was never going to improve next season by not getting any game time, so sending him out on loan is a shrewd move which will allow us to assess whether it would be worth extending his contract. Good luck to him.

As for Evans, I certainly have no qualms with moving him on. He's certainly not a Premier League player, and by selling him he will allow us to bring in a central midfielder much more suited to this level.

Before these two left i would have said we needed an extra centre mid. Now they've gone we probably need 2/3 players. Either Cattermole or Jenas and someone more attacking, maybe that lad Man City let go? There's not much out there at the moment and we desperately need some experience in the middle.

Cairney hasn't been effective for an eternity.

He likes a stroll too much, and I'm glad we're letting him go for, presumably, someone who will come in and give more.

Evans is a player I like, I think he's as honest as the day is long, but sometimes a bit panicky. Shame for him, but Bruce has been spot one with almost every addition and decision so far, so it's another case of trusting in that man for me.

This is the Premier League, and we will make a fist of it!
