That really isn't a priority. Anyway, Papa is adept at playing there in the event that Lucas is injured.

I think it a priority. We saw a couple of season back what effect an injury to Lucas has on the team. Plus, I think Lucas need competition for his place anyway.

If Luis Alberto does well in cm Gerrard could do the odd game at DM if needed. Lucas is safe.

 

Well it looks like we're serious on Diego Costa.

I think he's a good player and 'big-ish' name that will excite the fans. I do think the price is rather high for him - he's not particularly gifted technically (he's sound) but he has a knack of getting goals and assists (similar to Kuyt) but with a real nasty edge to him.

The best way to sum him up is that he makes Suarez look like a choir boy lol.

Either way, Rodgers says he wanted to add men to our team - well, Costa is a real street fighter who will bring a physical presence up front and won't allow us to be bullied. Combine this with the potential addition of Papa and our team will have some much needed steel. I'd definitely welcome this signing as it shows intent even though he's not worth that amount.

The fact that we've met his release clause probably shows how much we want him and how quickly we want this resolved.

EDIT: Encouraging to know that Costa isn't a replacement for Suarez. A front 3 of Suarez, Costa and Aspas. I don't think many teams/media will like us lol.
