Seems to be a lot of loans with an option to buy this season. Maybe it's a new trend. It's ok I feel it's like 'try before you buy'. Pity we didn't have that option with Carroll, downing, aqualani to name a few. I see jack Robinson has gone out on loan to Blackpool. That's 4 that I know of out on loan so far this season. All money off the wage bill. Good move for him. Feel he has a future, maybe not with us, but with a lower league or top championship side.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...caos-successor-and-la-ligas-most-hated-player Not a great fan of bleacher report as a whole but gives a bit of background on the player. If we end up keeping Suarez with this guy and Aspas... That would be hilarious.
Looks like the Diego Costa rumours aren't BS. James Pearce ‏@JamesPearceEcho 1m #LFC have bid 25m euros for Atletico Madrid's Brazilian striker Diego Costa. Full story on Echo site shortly.
Ok - so beyond the 'bad boy' stuff is the guy any good?? Lot if money and I don't know anything about him
He is very good. He's more in the Hulk mould, strong pacey and tricky. He got 20 in 40 odd appearances last season for Athletico Madrid too. Will add that the reported fee is his buyout clause so it certainly has legs if it's true!
Yeah but he is more of a winger rather than CF (Typical Rodgers signing), and in all competitions it was 20 in 44 which isn't a bad return at all. Suarez, Costa, Sturridge and Aspas.. That's some real fire power there.
Aspas' record wasn't much better was it? Edit: Just checked; 12 in 33 league games and 12 in 36 overall
I just thought of a great question. Who would you prefer at left back: This new bloke from Portugal who is apparently crap at LB Or Downing
Liverpool managing Director already said Suarez is staying for the coming season. Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre has told Sky Sports News he has no doubt Luis Suarez will stay at the club. Arsenal have failed with two club record bids for Suarez, who told Liverpool earlier this summer he wants out of the club but has since returned to pre-season training. And as Sky Sports News' 92Live helicopter landed in Liverpool on Thursday evening, Ayre joined Jim White pitchside at Anfield to make it clear the striker is going nowhere before the transfer window closes. "We've got Luis Suarez in our squad, he'll have trained today and he's working hard," said Ayre, who added there have been no offers from abroad for the player. "Despite what people think we've not had an intention of selling Luis, we've never said we want to sell Luis. "He continues to work hard and train hard for Liverpool. That will continue and I'll expect him to be here at the start of the season." Ayre confirmed Arsenal's two bids but said: "It's not something we're interested in and, as our fans would expect, we rejected both. The player is not available for sale - that's where we are and that's where we'll stay "I wish I had £1 for everyone that's stopped me in the street saying 'make sure Luis stays'. That's what we're doing." "He continues to work hard and train hard for Liverpool. That will continue and I'll expect him to be here at the start of the season." Ian Ayre Suarez was given time off after playing for Uruguay in the Confederations Cup but joined up with Brendan Rodgers' squad in Melbourne, where 95,000 supporters watched Liverpool beat Melbourne Victory. Ayre said: "I don't think his demeanour's changed - he's been a professional throughout. It's just business as usual. "Luis was on the back end of tour with us. He joined us in Melbourne, and seeing the fantastic support and adulation, nobody will know more than Luis how much he's loved by this football club. "I'm sure he's going to stay - that's always been our ambtion and that's what we expect to achieve http://www1.skysports.com/football/...s-suarez-will-not-leave-liverpool-this-summer
Well based on that article he sounds remarkably similar to Suarez... which makes me think that he's more of a replacement than someone to play alongside him.
"I wish I had £1 for everyone that's stopped me in the street saying 'make sure Luis stays'. That's what we're doing." Maybe that's how we've funded Costa?
