Liverpool can have some quality on the bench, depending on who starts. Sturridge, Coutinho and Sterling were all left out at various points, though the latter went off the boil badly. Only young, though.
Sturridge is definitely, for me. Coutinho's fitness didn't seem to be up to 90 minutes every game, but a full pre-season in English football might help with that. I think that Rodgers left one or the other out when Suarez was available, though. Might not be remembering that right.
If we're still in the market for Halilovic, there is a note of caution in this month's WSC - all of Dinamo's top prospects sign contracts with the club's executive director Zdravko Mamic that entitles him to 20% of their income once they leave the club. Although the knowledge that Modric stands to lose €4m over the duration of his Real *spits* Madrid contract to Mamic is highly amusing, there is no doubt that this arrangement is exceptionally shady, especially given that Mamic is very close with national boss Igor Stimac and that has seen certain Dinamo players getting picked for national duty despite not being fit for purpose in a blatant attempt to inflate their transfer fees and future earnings (which also explains why Stimac was so vocal in Modric going to Real, he knew his mate would line his pockets) It's bizarre when the fate of Dinamo Zagreb's best players, and potentially the Croatian national team, rests with Eduardo - because Mamic took him to court for the crime of saying "No you can't have 20% of my earnings, so piss off." (not a direct quote)
Nani? Not scared of him in the slightest. Give him a whack in first couple minutes hes on and he loses interest. Young =/= Lennon Kagawa will start so.. Cleverly? No better than Holtby or Gylfi Hernandez =/= Defoe Rooney - Fair enough Maybe im just mega biased but I feel our squad is in great shape at the minute!
How is that legal? Sounds extremely dubious to me and I'd expect it to get overturned, if anyone actually challenged it in court.
It's a "you scratch my back i'll scratch yours arrangement" - In other words Mamic has the power to ruin any of his players careers in an instant, so blackmails them with this extortionate wage cut. They sign the deal, they get played for Dinamo and Croatia, their career takes off. It's surprising what you can get away with when there's a contract involved.
I'd understand that if it was during their time with Dinamo, but once they've left I can't see how that's sustainable. Sounds extremely dodgy, to say the least.
Welcome to Eastern Europe! The fact that Mamic is taking Eduardo to court for telling him to do one should, in theory, have those clauses voided.
pictured at Heathrow today. why would he be there and not training with the team? http://instagram.com/p/cd_5dhrrmf/# Rumour has it he's been sold to someone in the USA.
And I'd rather have Lennon than Young--doesn't score as much, but always adds danger, whereas Young is more up and down. But even though I like Defoe, Hernandez is fantastic, he's a different level.
apparently we have an interest in Umtiti, according to Suter. - remember him? Thought you might!
Some Fraudulent Madrid fanpage on FB just reported a verbal deal had been agreed to sell them Bale for £125m. I promptly blocked the page for being "annoying."
Read somewhere that Bale`s agreement with his agent Jonathan Barnett is due to expire in another years time. If this is true and Bale decides to change agent next year it could be now or never for Barnett to get his massive pay day for a Bale transfer. If Barnett is trying to talk Bale into a move this window, it could explain a lot of what we are hearing and reading, also who it is that is obviously drip feeding information to the media. Could be a load of nonsense, but this wouldnt be the first greedy agent desperate for his big fat cut.
