This is to me the clearest indication yet that he's staying. He's certainly positioning himself ready for it. The main positive is that when he says he'll give his all I'm sure he will. His route out would only be to make himself wanted unlike Taraabt sulking which is a shame as its Taraabt I want to keep above all else!! @Joey7Barton: Its funny how people take a throw away comment to a hypothetical question and before you know it, its national news. @Joey7Barton: Its well known who I support. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work that out. Good football agents will always be looking to move... @Joey7Barton: ...players, thats how they make money. Recent rumours are slightly wide of the mark, everyone knows where I would like to end up, in France. @Joey7Barton: Playing in the Champions League for Olympique Marseille, nothing has changed my end. If not, I am contracted to QPR and will give my all @Joey7Barton: ...to help them regain their Premier League status. If, something happens and both clubs decide differently than I will assess my options. @Joey7Barton: No matter what happens, I intend to enjoy my football and play with a smile on my face. Again, wherever that maybe. Careers are too short @Joey7Barton: Hope that clears my situation up for everyone. Stop listening to all the tittle-tattle. Most self coined 'experts',know **** all.
If he does as he says and STAYS OFF THE TWITTER, he might win a few fans back to supporting him. I'm afraid there are some on here who will never support him under any circumstances and that is their right.
Funnily enough he started to look half decent once he got off that arguing with fans all the time. Hes an addict, he cant stop himself and that should be enough reason to sack him. IF we cant get rid, we should tell him to close his account theres no way he could do that.
He brought our Club into serious disrepute in that City game. And he's not a great footballer. I do not want him playing for my Club ever again.
Don't be so sensitive. After all its all water gone under a bridge now. After few good matches for us you dont even remember such thing. Sadly i cant see him playing for us anymore and believe he goes back to france.
Indeed, I don't really care. All I'm interested in after last years crap is seeing a committed team giving their all and hopefully pushing for promotion. If that involves JB then so be it. New season new slate for me and no negativity until its deserved based on this year!
Short memories, the bloke is poison and most importantly, not a very good footballer. Remember how bad his corners and free kicks were, remember how he kept given the ball away. Neville Southall was spot on - he can run and that's about it.
Lets not forget his stupidity at City could have sent us down on that day, it was only luck we didn't... He is not a committed player that will give 100%, that day proved how much of a self obsessed numpty he is.
He's getting desperate so let's hang on until he decides to walk of his own accord. Then he can pay us for early termination of his contract. Make him suffer for all the damage he did to our club. It seems some on here have short memories. Just ask yourself what is your lasting memory about Barton in a hoops shirt!
I was thinking the same thing, if the situation had been us 2-1 up, late in the game, when he was red carded and we lost 3-2 and were relegated. In hindsight I almost wish we were relegated that day and had started the necessary squad rebuilding process a year ago.
It depends who Joey attacks first. I really think it was better we went down this season. I think we learned a lot more hard lessons from last season and so surely are the wiser. If we'd gone down last season I still think we'd be considerably more naive than we are now.
hopefully Arry will keep in the reserves, Marsaille will offer him slightly better than what they did and he will go. didn't newcastle fans warn us of him and say he would be a "cancer within the team"?
You're probably correct, last season was just so frustrating - I guess we might have done a Wolves if Hughes was still in charge in a Championship season looking forlorn & clueless on the touchline.
At least we will have someone to abuse now Bos has gone.. Personally never want to see him play for us again..absolute to**er and not very good either.
Yes, I agree totally. The guy can be a decent player when his head is switched on. As with a new season, I'll support each and every player that pulls on a shirt for us................... without prejudice, but if he starts to fcuk the team and the club around, I'll be all over him like a rash.
Joey Barton may divide opinions, but if he does stay, I can see him being roundly supported. He's a bit like the school bully - a bit of a nuisance on his home turf. But when there's a scrap between two schools he's 'our nutter'. It's not that long ago that at least one contributor on here had a little video posted into their signature blocks with Joey Barton giving a 3-0 hand signal to the Wolves fans. I actually think he might play a few matches in August, as I think there's a standoff until 1st September. All parties waiting for one to compromise. I think a deal will be done, but if not then he will play for us to January and perhaps beyond.
