Nice one, cheers! Interesting to read other fans POV on our history. Lovely dig by the Hearts fan who said; "Cardiff were coming on leaps and bounds for years too and had looked for about 4 or 5 years like they'd come up until they actually did. Then out of nowhere, Swansea just bypassed them and went onto become the club Cardiff wished they were. "
Leaves a warm glow inside Dragon, I love the fact that a lot of teams have us as their second team now, and I also love the fact that a lot of proper football fans realise that they too can follow the same path to success by not spending money they don't have ! It makes it a very sweet thing, great post mate
The smell of warm piss in the North Bank 'gents' toilets will stay with me for ever. I was only a young pup back then too!
Love it !! The vetch toilets were awesome mun!! where elsewould you roll up your levi's totake a piss !!
Some of the comments on youtube "Thanks for making this available for us all. Great to see and so many memories (and omissions, too). Hei Nils, jeg er en Jack og er Walisisk men jeg bor i Norge nÃ¥. Hvor er du?" "Absolutely amazing! Britton is a Swansea legend! MUFC supporter" "From a Coritiba FC Fan (Brazil), I never thought that Swansea have such a history like that. You guys won my support in Premier League. In certain parts of this documentary i had goosebumps and ever cried in the survival game on the 4º league. My club also had many difficulties in his history and because of that, I totally get the feeling of sadness and disappointment, but also the happiness that comes with the victory! C'mon SWANS!" "The documentary fails to mention the two times that the club had went into administration and screwed over local businesses. Now I am obviously a Cardiff fan as some will see my views as bitter but we are always perceived as the bad team of Wales etc. In the movie, we will be portrayed as a horrible club, but Swansea City are potrayed as the perfect club?" "Yeah you are bitter. Why would that mather now? But next season will be awesome. 2 Wales club and a big local derby. I'm looking forward to it." "Real madrid + barcelona= swansea" "Great documentary. From an American lad" "Aw man I'm tearing up and I'm a Grimsby Town fan" "Thanks so much! Wanted to see this and now I have ... from Japan." "Thank you so much for posting this. As a Swans fan living in Vancouver, it is incredibly difficult to watch stuff like this. Many thanks." As I said on the Top 50 clubs thread over on our cousin's board, when international recognition comes in Swansea is by far the biggest team in all of Welsh football history. No other club even comes close because, Cardiff are closer to Wrexham and Newport than they are to Swansea because we have people who have chosen us from afar as Canada to Brazil to Japan. Cardiff's international appeal ends at Tonypandy. The vast majority of these people don't even know there is a city called Cardiff, let alone that it has a football team. (I suspect a couple might get annoyed with this post )
Thanks for that. Great to get home after work today and read the Match reports, 4-0 then watch that video. Fantastic! That Hull game really was something else and a turning point in our lives but the rise to where we are now has just been phenomenal, almost an unbelievable Boy's Own story and long may it continue. Just a shame the ground wasn't packed today, I wish I had been there.
"I wonder if they will have some reminders of their "way up" like the large pools of urine in the gents at the Vetch" That's a good one from the Argyle forum!
Its not just humans that appreciate our football. Even the animal kingdom are becomming Jack Bastards. Apparently this one has a healthy appetite for red birds.
