I was just casting my eye over some of the views around Bale from the Spurs fans and saw an article called "It's a TEAM game". In the OP, spurm suggest that Bale is "far superior to Beckham", here is the full post: What do fellow reds think of that comment? Who was/is the better player? Bale of Beckham...?
Beckham could cross a ball, take freekicks and knock long passes. That was about it. Massively over rated as a player. Bale's far better. I was more amused that the Spuds suddenly have backtracked into claiming they'll improve without him whereas a week ago they shouldn't consider selling him.
Spuds last week - "We won't sell him, levy will turn the offer down." "He'll be here next season, just you watch!" Ummmm? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23526530 http://www1.skysports.com/football/...eal-madrid-bid-85m-for-tottenhams-gareth-bale http://www1.skysports.com/football/...rms-desire-to-leave-tottenham-for-real-madrid I think it's ****ing hilarious
I'm not going to laugh at the Spuds. We said the same type of things about Torres and then consoled ourselves when he left. Suarez is slightly different. We know that he wants to leave for Madrid; he's already caused us great grief; we don't want to sell him to a direct competitor. But we would sell him abroad at the right price and Bale is pushing that price up daily! I will however rejoice in Wenger and Arsenal looking silly, unprofessional and lacking guts. I will laugh at those who thought that Levy had too much 'bottle' to even consider selling Bale this year
Bales obviously the more talented footballer, but Beckham would obviously fit in with that "it's a team game" mentality, where as Bale wouldn't? The thing that made Beckham as good as he was that he know what he was good at and made the most of those abilities. He didn't try and play like someone who had the talents he had. He would rarely try and go past someone on the dribble unless he knew he could create the space to knock in a cross. Anyways, you build a team around Bale, but you could add Beckham into a team without having to change anything. That's probably why Beckham was one of the few successful British players to go abroad.
becks, best free kick taker in the world when he played, there are many players who can ping a cross or a high pass. Bale, last season far better than becks, has the free kicks and all the other stuff too but Becks did his thing for a decade, Bale one year. Becks was vastly overrated though His goal v Deportivo I still remember, a fooqin cracker.
Being reported at £105m today. The world has gone mad. A 7 game player in January/February might be the most expensive monkey ever.
Real are just pathetic with their ludicrous behaviour. like the spoilt chubby kid at school. 105million is just insane for Bale, Messi...perhaps. Spurs will be a better team with 105m in their pockets than with Bale
