Thats the real puzzle for me. Why don't other clubs appear to rate him? Why arent we fighting to keep him?

Chelsea bid £14 million for the lad 6 moths before he signed for us.

We aren't fighting to keep him as he has publicly stated he is happy, and we aren't sharking him for sale, Di Canio, live on TV, stated how impressed he was with the lad only 6 days ago.

The papers know **** all, and are rehashing an old story, we are not looking to sell him, and I firmly believe he will be here next season.

He should also be given number 10 (although I know he has worn 28 his whole career and it may be a significant thing...)

I agree with this. People talking of a front 5, at our stage of development and status in this league, are dreaming. We'd concede far too much possession and too many goals.

On paper we'll be 4-4-2 with Sess off a striker (which really would be 4-2-3-1) as our 2 wide men would be high up the pitch, along with Sess. This is what I think will and should happen, anyway!

I remember the first time we played against Norwich last season. The game of 2 halves; atrocious the first, fantastic the second. There was about a 20 minute spell in the second half where Sess and Rose were playing CM together.

Granted it was against Norwich, but it was probably the best, most attacking and threatening we looked all season.

Yeah, that second half we battered the shot out of them, and if I recall correctly, they were bang on form in the middle of an 11 game unbeaten run.

Report in the people suggesting this is the reason why we might be trying to offload him.

If he is on this sort of money does it change your stance on him as i think most are in the keep sess camp?

Not sure mate, how long was johnsons contract for? He was on £90k pw at city and they subsidised his drop in wage with £3m iirc, so if it was 4 years then he could be on around £75k

The people, isn't that just the Sunday version of the mirror?

Must be a breach of security if these ****ers can find out how much people are on...

If he's on that much, it basically blows the 50k a week myth out of the water.

But it was Bruce that bought him, not mon. Don't know if that's relevant or not though...

Doesn't change my opinion. Just look at the talent he is. If he was consistent week in week out he'd have bypassed us completely and would be playing at a top CL club earning 100k+

I mean it's easy to say no player is worth 68k a week, true as it is, we just don't live in a world where footballers are low paid. I bet AJ is on at least 50k a week. If you want stars in your squad it's going to cost in wages. You never know, If PDC gets a consistent season out of him then we'll have a 100K a week player for less than 70k.

He wont get £68k per week anywhere as he isn't a £68k a week player. On his day can be devastating but too often than not he is anonymous.

He wont be on anywhere near £68k a week here that's a fact.

i would put him on somehwre beetween 30k and 50k per week. think this 65k is just bullshit paper talk, ellis has been saying for years he wants to sort the wage bill out since the mess keane left, i cant see him sanctioning wages like that for anyone tbh
