I think he was better in that role than Hooper was the first time he did it. Ok, it wasn't great in the areas he should have been, but kept reveiving the ball. Hooper became very good at it. I don't think Stokes can, but he isnae a write off for every role. Far from it.

I thought Stokes played well last night , ok should have scored first minute , and not gone for top corner at the end when Ledley was unmarked on six yard box . It was him that set up Sammy at start of 2nd half

Stokes? Decent squad player, nothing else. Get a striker in. And make it a decent one.

Can be effective when he drifts out wide(cup final) still got work to do on his decision making.

Remember how good he was with Hooper? That was not all down to hooper himself.

    He will score goals too

Samaras and wee Jimmy were able to skip past 2 or 3 of their players at will and Stokes struggled to get past one. His mobility is a real worry.

I'm not going to panic just yet, he's got to be allowed time to fit into a new(ish) role.

Forrest has been a bit frustrating for about a year now

McGeady mark 2 if you ask me. Very little end product to decent build up

Stokes isn't good enough. Full stop. I`ve been saying this for how ****ing long now ? Hasn't he had the time to develop like we keep hearing he is going to ? He isn`t going to. Time to move the ira supporting mickey ned on. He could flourish at a mid to lower-table spfl side, that's his level.

    What IRA pish?

He hasn't had any time to develop into this specific role. Hooper was horrible up top by himself the first time he did it and was a real leader of the line by the finish up.

Only if he goes to meet his relatives in Los Angeles, or INLA, if you prefer.
