I dunno. Why have i? I wasn't aware it did have.

I might just make my own Spurs shirt using a felt tip pen and a white t-shirt and then put Khumalo on the back. I'll wait til his loan is over though

<laugh> No not why have you got too many shirts.

    But;

Have you got so many shirts that YOU don't need to buy a Khumalo one. Why should we buy a Khumalo shirt?

    Oh forget it! <laugh>

  4. Real have yet to make a formal bid. They've already spent over £70m this Summer on three players. They don't have £85m left to spend, which is probably why they haven't made a formal offer (ie. one that we could accept).

  5. I strongly suspect that Levy is acutely aware of that fact, and is one of the driving reasons behind his holding onto to Bale. The sensible thing to do is to buy Bale's replacement(s) now, and sell Bale afterwards.

Spot on, with Bale we can get players who otherwise wouldn't come, Liandro must be kicking himself, so get them all in and then sell Bale.

I thought there was an official bid of £85m that had been on the table for a week? Did i fall for the journ tricks again?
How would we know if there had been a formal bid anyway? I assume it doesn't have to be public knowledge?

    No Bid for Bale Spurmey.

I agree about getting the players in first, I said this yesterday, but it could cause massive issues if he's then sold, when he was one of the main reasons that particular player signed for us.

you can see it in the papers can't you? "Paulinho furious over Bale sale"

    just wait! <doh>

    some quotes from SCITK's.

    And this on Gylfi:

So 1 person is saying that everything's cool with Barnett, and its actually contract discussions that have happened in the past, not transfer discussions.

The other one is saying that Gylfi is another one of the "Barnett mob" who could be on his bike?

    Someone's telling porkies.

This is complicated, for me. Of course £85-100mil is one hell of a lot of money. Yes, we could strengthen significantly - assuming that money was made available to AVB.

However, i still can't help thinking about what we would be losing. There's a reason Real are willing to pay this kind of money. That reason is that Bale is unique, a one off, no other player currently playing in the world could have scored some of the magical goals he scored this past season.

As Hansen once said, whilst showing a clip of Bale mesmerising the opposition, "there's the most frightening sight in football, at the moment, Bale running at your defence"

Talent like that only comes along once in a generation - to the shores of the British Isles, anyway. I can't help thinking about us losing such a player.

Charlie Austin has signed for QPR.

i really can't understand why someone from the premiership didn't go for him. he's worth punt when you consider the prices for strikers these days.

Spot on, NSIS. You can see player's subconsciously shifting onto the back foot when he gets on the ball and it doesn't matter where he is on the pitch.

  18. I can hear Adrian "the paid wum" Durham on Talk5hite starting a phone-in on that very subject: "Should Spurs have sold Bale, Spurs fans, after Daniel Levy sold them a pack of lies?"

So after yesterday's disaster, bale is staying, soldado is signed and the young cb is back on?! Come onnnnnnn spurs! Give us a break! If siggy is off, then I'd jump at eriksen or halilovic for sure! And look at a young striker, LB position with the hudd, Parker, ade and bae sales? Things looking up again
