Trouble with so many footballers is they have far too much money in their pockets, and it inevitable goes on Drink, drugs, gambling, or vice, it take a real pro, to keep the discipline and self control!................
He as far as I'm aware didn't repeat his misdemeanours , very good player with a bright future ahead.I wonder if the club were interested in him this time round? I know it's a little thing but Monk handing over the captaincy to Ash perhaps gave the impression to the board that he (ash) is committed to us for a little while longer.Amat is one for the future and I think Chico atm is a better player than Chaulker so who would you drop to accommodate him .He obviously will be playing regular for the redtits ,could we have guaranteed him the same playing time.
Great signing for them. But how could they trust another ex Swansea player? Agent Caulker is in place
I have a hunch that he would have been Ash's replacement but with Arsenal playing silly buggers we have decided Ash is going nowhere so close to the start of the season.....and then Caulker has to be moved on because Spurs have lined up alternative 3rd/4th choice centre-halves. Weird that Wenger didn't bid for Caulker if he thinks Ash's price is too high. I think he'd walk into the Arsenal back four. It's also strange that Brendan wasn't interested seeing as Liverpool need a centre-half and are talking about paying £20 million for a crocked Greek! Perhaps there are deeper issues with Caulker than a slap on the wrist on Wind Street would indicate. I hope he has had a relegation release clause written into that contract!
It's a shame Chopra isn't still with the sellout red birds, he would be a cracking influence on Caulker! Joking aside, he's a good signing for them. He's going to have a busy season though!
Strange move for him. Can't see it enhancing his reputation. Putting my obvious bias aside here, I can't help but think he's been poorly advised on this one
His only obvious weakness as a defender was mental..... his intelligence/focus/concentration take into account the apparent gambling habit and nights on the lash getting into scraps (not fair to speculate on drugs as who of us really knows this) and it all adds up to a lack of intelligence and inability to calculate risk. If you have a character like that being advised by his agent to 'take this move as it's the most money we can get and they'll guarantee you a starting place' then maybe that would explain the decision to sign for a newly promoted club (with background financial problems). A decision that most football fans see as a big risk for his career. Definitely a great transfer for Cardiff however. Exactly what they needed. He is strong, great in the air, excellent in the tackle and has a fair amount of pace. They just need to pair him with the right player. Experienced, intelligent, leader.
I just like the names of the new posters here. I can't wait to see Dai's reaction to one in particular
I guess the increase of jacks coming on board is because planet swans have changed over to the new site? Welcome everyone! Don't forget to download the app it makes it even easier!
