God knows what's going on. We've discussed the "if's" over the last few days, but it's gaining speed now, and is more about "when" now. I just hope we spend a ****ing massive chunk of what ever we get for him. Replacing him will be one hell of a challenge which will need money!
Remember that this "transfer" appears to be going at the pace the "journalists" say, which is not necessarily the pace anything is really going at. It's more like they can't think of any more to invent about it, so have decided it must be about done.
True, but I just think RM will get their way and Levy (after speaking with AVB and Baldini) will sell. €100 + Morata (if true) is insane money lads. Soldado is all but done, Morata would be a great young addition too. That sort of money can allow us to buy anyone we want, within reason. Everytime we've been priced out of a deal in the past, wouldn't be the case now. The problem is finding someone...
Hello Roo Just taking the summer off. It actually helps...I would have blown a gasket or 2 on here by now with transfer talk...but enjoy reading what the rest of you's have to say on a daily basis.
If Bale goes that's it for me,i can't belive we will get a top4 place ,we don't seem to have any ambition,i do't see how we can get top player's to join when we sell our top one's,something that City ,Chelsea,United don't do,and not being in the C/L,means top players don't want to know.Losing interest now,i'll will still follow them,because it's in the blood,but it will be from a distance.
Morata's a strange one. When Falque was on loan I watched Almeria playing Real B and he looked clumsy and lucky more than anything. In the u21 Euros he seemed to pop up with plenty of goals and finished very well but a lot of the time his touch let him down. I'm utterly unconvinced by him by reading bits and bobs about him, I seem to be in the minority. I'd prefer it if we tried to take Illarramendi on loan for a start, surely he wouldn't get many games with Alonso and Modric ahead of him.
I know how you feel Tots, it's very deflating. But there will be a new Gareth Bale out there right now. It's just a case of finding him. It may take a little while, but we've got a coach who has scouted the world looking for young talent. With baldini part of the club too, we should be in good hands. Lets not forget we still have LLoris, Vertonghen, Paulinho, soon to have soldado, sandro. - they are also players who can attract others to play for us. The key is getting who we need and bloody fast, so we stand the best chance of CL qualification. If we don't, I fear for the end of next season.
I know what you mean. We waited SO long for a decent team and in 2 years we will have lost King, Modric, Vdv and Bale. Any team would struggle losing that much talent. Even before, when we were still top 5 we had carrick, berba and Keane pinched. Our team is still strong without Bale, top6, but we're basically showing that's the extent of our ambitions by bending over and letting best players get taken.
To be honest YV I know very little of Morata and haven't seen much of him. But a 20 year old from Real Madrid can't be too shabby and could learn well from AVB. It could be worse!
