Yeah, they can be registered straight away, provided you have a slot free. If not, then you have to re-jiggle it all in January.
Bloke who told me about Jenas seemed confident in his info. Asked for an update on Amalfitano and that's when he said he's not sure on that one now as Hull City doing a deal for another midfielder as we speak. I asked for clues and asked if he'd be revealed in tomorrow's paper (as he likes to keep exact names for the newspapers) - he said he may even pop up today, so name might be out before paper goes to print... which is when about 2 mins later he messaged to say it is nnow out the bag and sent me a link to that sports direct football site sating "this is the man". Just asked him why the club are denying it? ...I said I assume either the club are denying it to stop another DJ Campbell scenario alerting a freebie deal to our rivals, OR QPR have let out duff info to let people know Jenas is available and they're happy for someone to take him off the wage bill? He said he has no idea why it's being denied, but said the original info came from someone who should know.
I'm talking about a bloke who has been in the industry for years, has good contacts and counts the likes of Graeme Souness, Kenny Dalglish and Owen Coyle (amongst many others in the football world) as personal friends. I have no reason to doubt he was given the info from a good source, but as we all know from the DJ Campbell saga, things can change very quickly in football. Especially as both clubs and agents like to play silly games.
I wouldnt get arsed about him dazzer he's a newbie and coming across as a bit of a cock. Could be an aggie alias.
It's not really cliquey on here, but if you put sarcastic responses to what people say, expect a bit back from them. Not everyone on here is understanding; you don't have to agree with everybody, but try not to be dismissive of people. That's Erik's job. He'll be along shortly to beat you up for your lunch money. Welcome to Hell.
I agree with you mate! MOST of these ****s do their scouting on FOOTBALL MANAGER or on FIFA thinking that cos some IT nerd has programmed the players stats as good... we MUST sign them up. Honestly! some of you ****witts are really stupid!
I agree with you to a point but you should be aware that Football Manager have actual football scouts around the world getting data for them. They are usually spot on too. Most of the young, expensive players in football today were touted as "Wonderkids" in football manager before many of us even knew who they were. just saying..
CI linking us with Scott parker on a season long loan, what an incredible coup that'd be, cant see it mind.
Why will we ? You can have a squad of as many as you like as long as certain criteria are met. The regulations state that the 25 man squads must be made up of 8 home grown* players and 17 foreigners, so we have plenty of room for more foreigners. *The interesting bit is that a home grown player is defined not by nationality or age but has been registered by any club affiliated to the english or welsh FA for 3 seasons or 36 months prior to his 21st birthday. So as we allowed 17 foreigners. So far those who will be classed as foreigners will be McGregor, Jakupovic, Figueroa, Faye, Koren, Elmohamady, Proschwitz, possibly Aluko ?
For those who dont know. As the 31st august is a saturday this year the Transfer Deadline Day has been extended to monday 2nd september so that all the paperwork can be handled and processed. SSN and Jim White doing the usual on sunday 1st sept they have confirmed.
Well considering Aluko was born in Hounslow and McGregor comes from within the UK, you can't really call them foreigners. You also forgot about Sagbo, who is almost certainly not English. I don't know if Irish players count, so Brady, Quinn and McShane might be classed as foreign (although they've all been in England for some time).
McGregor has not been outside of Scotland until last season and thus will be classed as foreign. The regulation only allows English and Welsh FA affiliations. Sagbo was missed YES, but only becasue he has yet to get his International Clearance passed. Forget the ROI lads as they are classed as home grown so they can be a part of the 8. Any players we have under 21 years of age are exempt anyway from the 25 man squad listings.
