Not impressed with the sale of Caulker. Apparently Steau have said Chiricheș will not leave until winter?!
twitters current top 3 trends #THFC Spurs Soldado yet despite all that, there's actually no news! just total mayhem and people melting over bale/loss of caulker/no sign of soldado. i reckon it's Spurm power tweeting whilst he's sat on the sofa drinking a treble scotch.
Don't worry Spurf, I was only pulling your leg. You can sleep easy knowing Bramble is NOT a Spurs player... At least for now anyway, we may actually need him the way our CB's are looking
What a crock of **** I figured I'd be updating the OP before long, but not for Caulker. Quality CB - wtf are we doing? I've read reports that we're now linked to Toby Alderweireld or however you spell it. He's decent but Caulker is prem proven and only going to get better in my view. Madness. And if Sky's reports about Bale telling AVB he wants to leave are true then he can do one as well. So long as we bleed Real dry immediately and not stagger the fee over 40 years or something. Announce Soldado you douchebags
I watch the Eredivisie and in particular Ajax regularly and to be honest there's a reason Alderweireld hasn't been approached by any "top" side, no disrespect to Norwich but I'm surprised Alderweireld didn't join them. I don't think he's good enough to be starting for a top 6 side (yet) and I think the way Norwich are building under Chrissy Hughton, they'd actually be a perfect club for him.
I think AVB is now building his own team and we have to accept that if he doesn't rate the likes of Caulker there will be changes. Levy is obviously supporting him in the transfer market and I guess that both will be disappointed if Bale chooses to leave, nevertheless, AVB must build a side that can stand by itself without Bale because Gareth is not without a history of injuries (recurring back, ankle ligaments etc.). We can't afford to have our season falling apart because of an injury to one player. All these recurring transfer situations don't have to happen, Spurs should be putting massive buy-out clauses into players contracts. If Bale had £100 M clause there RM could either pay up or FOFF. No discussion necessary. No one player is bigger than the club. As it stands at the moment all Levy can really do is try and get the best deal (providing Bale is hell bent on leaving), whether it be cash up front or cash plus players I've no idea how Bale will do in the Spanish League, it would be quite amusing if RM didn't win their first 24 games with him on the team sheet. I'd have to wish him all the best though, it's been a pleasure watching him in a Spurs shirt. I think he's level headed enough to handle the move, whether he will be able to cope with the ego's of the other players who knows? If things didn't go well I'd guess Madrid could become a very lonely place.
Baffled by the sale of Caulker, given we need cover at the back with Kaboul and now Verts coming back from injuries (with Gallas since released to boot), so we'd better have a ready-made replacement lined up. Even more baffled that Huddlestone or Livermore have yet to be moved on. Surely they are far less likely to play first team games for us than Caulks ever was? Isn't that the line-up we had at the San Siro last season? Bloody felt like it...
The most surprised party in all this to receive the cash are Sunderland....Brambles a free agent without a club atm!
I strongly believe that Levy hasn't responded to Madrids offer yet as he & Baldini are working to identify and recruit players for when Bale goes. IF Bale does go then I can see 3/4 good players coming in within 2 weeks, players to take us forward and not to strengthen the squad. I really can't see Levy selling and not replacing (he must of learnt after the Berba saga). I wouldn't be surprised to see a new LB, CB, striker (in addition to Bobby) and a creative midfielder in the famous white shirt within 3 weeks. Obviously this is just my opinions!
