in last nights game where we won 2 nil, but I feel that Nzonzi must go, his body language has been terrible in the past 2 games even though his class shone through he was rightly subbed last night. Ill be gutted to see him go but its pointless trying to keep someone here if they dont want to be. Lets let him go and find another midfielder to fill his shoes. Muniesa looks a very special player. We passed the ball brilliantly and scored 2 good goals, really really looking forward to the prem starting now!!!.

    UTPsssssssssssss

I was hoping that Hughes coming in would revive N'Zonzi's interest and he would see that he was a pivotal player in an evolving team. Doesn't seen to be the case and I agree that we cannot carry that type of player.
Brek Shea's injury is a massive blow to him and the club but I feel that he is young enough to overcome the injury.
With Kightly, Pennant, Shea, Muniesa vying for places, I can see Etherington dropping quickly down the pecking order or sold. His form has dipped significantly and does not look the player we once lauded.
I would like to see Florent Cuvelier given a chance but there are a number of options in central midfield with experience in the PL and he would have to prove himself when the chance arrives. Don't see any reason why he can't force his way into the first team squad though.
Having seen interest in Crouch and Jones, combined with the obvious search for a seasoned goalscorer, I can see one of them going. For me, the signing of a good quality striker will make or break our season and it's a decision the club have to get right. Having not spent that much money so far this pre-season, I would like to think that we have the opportunity to spend big on an area that is vital to our survival.

I completely missed the game, (too much beer too quickly) but I have found a link to the entire match on the Philidelphia Union website (here). Will comment again once I've watched it.

I see what you mean about N'Zonzi ricc, he looked as though he couldn't be bothered. I can understand him being annoyed about not getting his promised contract, but I would have thought he'd be trying to impress Hughes and get himself in the team, and get his "improved" contract that way, rather than pulling his face. He's hardly likely to get interest form other clubs wanting to pay him more by playing like that.

Munesia looked very good, as did Pieters, both are confident going forward and I think it was Muneisa who crossed in for Kightly's goal (don't quote me on that though).
Hopefully Shea isn't out for too long, he is one I've been waiting to see and still not had much chance, but a goal for us and for the US national team, within a week, he can't be bad!

    Cheers Ricc,

I enjoyed that, still think that the closest that Shotton should come to the first team is with a bucket and sponge, washing cars in the car park!! <whistle>

Morning one and all... long time no post for me fellas.
Thanks Ric I enjoyed watching that and you can see that MH is starting to make his mark (no pun intended) on the way we set up/pass and play it!

I agree about Shotton, he should be in the stands with us the fans!
P.S. also got my ticket for the Liverpool game, BUT NO season ticket yet? Anyone else know anything on this topic? I'm also looking forward to the new season and I see that Jerome had a dig at Pulis re last night Sentinel. GOOD on Ya Jerome and quite right in what he say's.
