We get a home draw as we will finish top of the group. We won't get Nottinghamshire or Northamptonshire as they have finished top as well. I guess the best 2nd placed team get the last home draw so that means we won't get one of Surrey, Somerset, Essex or Glamorgan (only 2, maybe 3 of those teams will get through). As it stands we will be at home to one of Lancashire, Durham or Somerset. But the tables are very close going into the final round of fixtures.

Somerset are always around at the end of the tournament, but don't win.

We hammered them in 2009, Al.
It used to be get Trescothick out early on and you're halfway there.
I want Hampshire to succeed in the CC and get back to div 1, because the games against Sussex are always special and I miss them.
Arundel 2007 always springs to mind, Shane Warne and Mushtaq Ahmed spinning the ball in all directions, Chris Adams belting it right over my head.
There was a big crowd every day and I'm sure any cricket fan would have enjoyed it.

Whenever I see Somerset, like you say pompeymeowth, when Trescothick gets out, they crumble. But, they usually get to finals day.

Last 3 years, Somerset have reached finals every time, twice runners up. Never won though.

It's bloody lucky that Chris Gayle pulled out of his stint with Somerset!

Have Warwickshire won yet tonight in the 20-20? What do people think of Porterfield?

They lost by 10 in a bit of a thriller, got to requiring 22 off 2 overs with Maddy and Evans both set looking well on top but Thomas and Arafat kept pinging in the yorkers and they were just stepping back into their crease and swinging and getting absolutely near, was funny in modern T20 to see batsmen so utterly bamboozled by yorkers (very good ones though they were).

But when you look at the way some of the batsman like Trego were preempting and trying to hit everything it is no wonder technique is declining. 20-20 is good fun though.

Update: Somerset through, Glamorgan and Warwickshire out. The teams through are: Hampshire, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Somerset, Lancashire and Durham. and 2 from Surrey, Essex and Middlesex will go through. Although highly unlikely Middlesex will go through.

So likely line up for QF's will be:

Hampshire v runner up/3rd place team
Notts v runner up/3rd place team
    Northamptonshire v runner up/ 3rd place team
Surrey or Essex v runner up/3rd place team.

So Hampshire will get one of Lancashire, Somerset, Durham, Surrey or Essex (2 of Durham, Essex and Surrey will go through).

Playing Middlesex at the Rose Bowl tonight. Middlesex need to win to keep their hopes of qualifying alive.

But their crap run rate has pretty much ended their hopes.

Think Hants will win anyway tonight by 8 runs. Ervine half century.

Essex v Surrey is the big game tonight. The winner goes through and the loser is out.

And it also makes it impossible for Middlesex to qualify.

Going to miss most of tomorrow's Ashes match, but then have three days off (enough time for England, I should think). Have to say being very confident about any England team just seems wrong on so many levels;)
