The article really doesn't say much. Only that Man U are putting anothe bid in and that Fabregas remains silent. All we are aware of is he's happy to stay at Barca.
So you expect Suarez and Fabregas? Seriously though, if it was one or the other, who would you prefer? #stupidquestions
Suarez as he is what we need more at the moment. But Yeh, if they are both available i want both of them. We have a clause in Fabregas contract and when we sold him it was always with the intention that he would come back to Arsenal later in his career. We just thought he would last much longer at Barca. If he is available to leave i'd hope the club would doeverything in its power to bring him back.
Isn't the clause for first refusal? In other words, Arsenal are notified if another club bids an acceptable amount? There are three points to consider here; would Arsenal be willing to match that amount (whatever it is), would Cesc want to rejoin Arsenal and would AFC & CF be able to agree terms. No to any of them and its no deal.
We have the money to get both. Isn't this what all our financial austerity and the big stadium was all about?
His release clause is 40m and Arsenal have first refusal. The release clause can only be activated by Arsenal.
We can definately afford both and we could definately give Cesc the contract he wants as he took a pay-cut when he went to Barca, he isn't all about the cash (and even then we have the funds to pay him 150k a week no problem. There are different stories with the clause, one is first refusalandanother 50% of the sell-on fee, other sources say tere is a set buy-back price for us. Either way it was set up to make it easy for Cesc to return to Arsenal one day and he has always said they are the only two clubs he would play for. He stil follows and supports arsenal (making regular comments on twitter andliking arsenalphotos) and he is in regular contact with Wenger. Of any player, he is the one player i believe genuinely wants to play for clubs he loves, not just for cash. He lovedbeing the man at Arsenaland heknows the fanswould welcome him back with open arms. I'm not saying he would snub Utd, i'm just saying we have avery real chance of gettin him backif he is available and if Utd have a bid accepted it means all we have to do is say "yes we are interested" and we get to skip straight to convincing Cesc.
And thats not even taking into account the money still owed to us for Song and Fabregas which would come off the price we pay making it even easier to tie up a deal.
My point is that everything is in place for him to mvoe back to Arsenal - the cash is available, the clause guarantees we get to talk to cesc and cesc loves Arsenal and Wenger so i think there is a decent chance that should Utd have an offer accepted we will end up signing him.
And that Wenger said he wants to stay at Barca for another year. Wenger never usually puts him neck out for something that he knew something about.
All the clause does is get us straight past the negotiation stage. Cesc still has to want to join Arsenal just like any player has to agree to a move. There is also the possibility that Barca would prefer to sell to Arsenal due to current money owed. I do think Cesc has the intention to play for Arsenal again one day and if Barca decide now is the time for him to go, with Moyes being unproven and if Arsenal also get Suarez or similar level of players in that Cesc would see a move to Arsenal a very attractive prospect.
