I was underwhelmed at first, but only because I thought he was very injury prone and we'd be paying out wages for someone not playing. I didn't catch any of his QPR games though and have since been told he was close to being back to his best and is fit and ready to play.
It's the ripple effect... Players who become surplus to requirements at the big boys, get picked up by the Evertons and west hams which make their own fringe players become available. Aiming for 17th in the premiership is not delusions of grandeur but neither should it mean we have to settle for players who used to have a career eight years ago.

I'm not really sure what your gripe is; the lad played 21 times for England, made over 250 appearances in the Premier league and you don't think he's good enough? He decided to leave Spurs and move to QPR where he'd get more game time. Now he wants to come back to the PL and be a first team player. I don't think any of the teams around us would baulk at his signing and we need experienced players who can guide the younger ones. Look at the effect George Boateng had on players (Cairney was a prime example and cites Boateng as a massive boon to his development), he wasn't the fanciest footballer but he linked up play well and dropped deep to assist the defence, something Jenas will have to do if we play with a 3 man defence. If we are getting him for free, it could be one of the most important signings we make this season.
Maybe the origin of this rumour got lost in translation. Bruce wanted some German Jeans (Hugo Boss). Some scamp translated that into Jermaine Jenas. Nearly caught us out

I think the Jenas rumour is true, and Buckingham is only saying it isn't because JUST THIS MORNING the HDM published its interview with Agnew, where he was saying nothing will happen before Germany. This Jenas story blows that piss right out the toilet bowl! It just won't do for Bucko, so now he's said this. He'll be here, he'll sign, and he'll score the goal that keeps us up! Maybe...
Jenas is stuck in a traffic jam on the M1. All Bucky has said is that his arrival at the KC is not imminent. It's a bad tail back, he'll be stuck there for hours so what Bucky said is true. They're deceiving us at every level here. I'll bet the only person that knows the truth is Tickles, and with him it's in a strictly 'need to know' basis that I simply do not qualify for. I'll stand back and let the big boys do their business, crunch some numbers, break some balls etc. But I smell a cover up. Some dirty rotten lies. Agendas. The whole thing stinks.
