Anyone else need having trouble typing the sentence "Spanish giants Real Madrid" without having to go back and correct the second word of that sentence? Still, at least we have Welsh legend Ian Rush saying he shouldn't move abroad until he's 28, which in theory trumps Welsh non-legend John Hartson (formerly of Arsenal and West Ham...) saying he should.
Spurm, I know that Jammie redknapp called us a selling club last night on some sky sports programme. Mentioned that as we sold Carrick, Berba & Modric then we must be a selling club. Wasn't aware that Arry said it as well, although we all know that Arry loves talking to the media!!
wasn't harry junction, think jamspurs was confused. Either that or the article didn't specifically say Jamie.
"When they sold Bale to Tottenham, they inserted a sell-on clause believed to be 25 percent. But when they found themselves in financial difficulty, Southampton settled that clause and agreed to receive around £3m plus Tottenham youth goalkeeper Tommy Forecast. Forecast never made an appearance for Southampton and is currently without a club. Southampton can still expect a small percentage of a Bale sale to cover training costs. And that figure is thought to be less than 5%. So, the potential sale could have netted Southampton over £25m. Instead, they are likely to receive less than £5m." Gutted for Southampton....
you win some you lose some. We reportedly nearly sold him for £3m to birmingham. What a balls-up that would've been
Who would you more notice of Rush,a scoring legend who has played abroad(Italy),or Hartson, at best a championship Striker, who has only played in Britain
I watched it, it was Jamie, his words were... "they ARE a selling club, we've seen it with Modric and Berbatov", he emphasised the word 'are', and I thought well Jamie, you certainly changed your tune since your dad left.
A lot less, every one I've seen says 2m... https://www.google.co.uk/#sclient=p...or.r_qf.&fp=b05dbebff11bea80&biw=1280&bih=615 ...but they won't even be getting that because Bale is not for sale!
http://www1.skysports.com/football/...miss-out-on-around-11m-if-gareth-bale-is-sold The actual quote was taken from the sky sports transfer ticker but the above link now on sky says £11m
Italy was like living in a foreign country. I wonder if Bale has considered that it might be the same in Spain? Lol
Update on sports day suggest that caulker is being sold to Cardiff. Why are we selling our best prospect? Seems ludicrous to me. As I've been travelling, I've missed most of this, but has there been suspicions of unhappiness or something? He's so young! Makes no sense at all
If i was in his shoes I'd want to leave too. There were loads of occasions last year where he was the perfect candidate to fill in, but Gallas got the nod. I don't blame him for going looking for regular football.
I'll never begrudge someone regular football as a motive to leave. He is quite young though... At that age should you necessarily expect more than 20 games a season? Also anything less than 10m and Cardiff have done very well!
bearing in mind how good he was at swansea, he could have played more. However 20 is still a fair amount. I think it's actually more about the fact that Gallas prevented him from progressing last season, IMO. Thats what's wound me up. I expect he's learnt a lot from Gallas, but Caulker should have been in our first team and or squad a lot more than he was. There were times where Gallas was woeful and SC would have been a far better choice.
http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-set-sign-tottenham-5389633 Cardiff City set to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Steven Caulker in club record deal later today The Bluebirds are on the brink of completing a sensational club record deal for former Swansea loan star Steven Caulker Steven Caulker is set to sign for Cardiff City Steven Caulker is set to sign for Cardiff City Cardiff City are set to smash their club record transfer fee once again today as they look to sign Tottenham defender Steven Caulker. WalesOnline understands the Bluebirds are close to agreeing a deal with the 21-year-old, with Caulker in Cardiff undergoing a medical. The England international represents a huge coup for the Premier League new boys as manager Malky Mackay prepares to make his fourth signing of the summer. The exact value of the deal is not known at this stage but we understand it will usurp the £8.5m paid for Andreas Cornelius. Caulkerâs Premier League pedigree is already well known in South Wales after his season-long stay with Swansea City two years ago that enhanced his reputation as one of the brightest defensive prospects around. His performances at the Liberty during Swanseaâs maiden year in the Premier earned him a call-up to the Team GB squad for the London Olympics as well as seeing him force his way into first-team plans at White Hart Lane. Caulker made 26 appearances during his time at Swansea, going on to win a first senior England cap the following season while back at Spurs. But he has not figured regularly in North London and Mackay has moved to get his man. Swansea attempted to secure the return of Caulker last summer, but were unable to make any headway in a deal while Brendan Rodgers was also linked with a move to take him with him to Liverpool. The former Yeovil and Bristol City loanee played in both of Spursâ recent friendly games with Sunderland and South China in Hong Kong and the recent injury suffered by Jan Vertonghen appeared to suggest he could be stying at White Hart Lane. Cardiff have also been linked with a move for Espanyolâs Mexico international centre-back Hector Moreno while are still trying to secure a deal for France midfielder Etienne Capoue.
