Seems we after him.... http://www.sportsdirectnews.com/pre...city-transfer-news-tigers-swoop-for-jenas.php edit: Just seen that Dazzar86 already broke this news...
I would have thought his wages would be too high for us. Is he about to do a dirty Diouf style golly in that picture ?
Didn't look too bad when he joined QPR last season, is he still under contract there though? I'm not sure I'd want us to pay a fee for him so a loan may be a safe bet.
I think QPR are letting him leave for free. Or for a small fee that's well within our budget. I doubt wages will be a problem, I think even he realises he's going to have to take a pay cut wherever he goes.
I liked Jenas when he was at Spurs, and although his career seems to have gone slightly downhill since then, from what I saw he did a decent job at QPR last season. On a free transfer this could prove to be a shrewd move.
He is available on a free and he already took a big pay cut when he went to QPR, though he's still supposed to be on £30k a week(he was allegedly on nearly £100k at Spurs). He's only got a year to run on his QPR deal, so I think he'll be realistic on wages.
There is absolutely no way he was on over 50k at spurs. He was on 20k when he joined us then signed 1 new contract taking it to around £40-50k which I would imagine QPR matched. Would be a great signing for Hull!
I got that amount from an article on London Tonight about his move from you to QPR, but a little more research would suggest it was indeed bollocks, as it seems when Villa took him on loan they were paying his wages in full(quoted as £45k a week).
What is his injury record like, without checking, always had him down as one of those players that seems injured a lot?
I don't think Jenas was solely responsible for the Drama's plight. I recently read Sir Bobby Robson's autobiography and he described Jenas as one of the most talented midfielders he had worked with. Personally I cannot see how he can be described as dogshit. He would be a good addition for us
His stats for the past 4 seasons suggest 1 goal and 1 assist per season. No assists in the past 2 seasons.
I think some city fans have been blown into delusions of grandeur after promotion. Turning their noses up at players like jenas and palacios and moaning about signing graham. We aren't Manchester United... Yet...
As he was out injured for the entire 2011-12 season, that's hardly surprising. He scored 21 in 155 games for Spurs and he scored 2 in 12 for the drama's last season, having only been signed in January. We're looking at signing an experienced Premier League player with 21 England caps and people are still complaining.
