Here Covey, what have we got with big Virgil? Apart from twitter pics of his woman in a Celtic jersey all the time.

An injury prone decent player with some potential any more than that?

You can read some more about the Eredivisie and talents etc on my blogs on not606, regularly post an article on here, or check my twitter or personal blog. <cheers>

Great physique and speed, one of the few proper talents from the Dutch youth academy. Bit inconsistent and his positioning is off sometimes, but his marking and tackling is good.

Sorry I couldn't be a bit more thorough, I haven't seen many FC Groningen games last season, mainly because those were horrible to watch most of the time.

Yea, after RKC Waalwijk it was the most dullest team in the Eredivisie. Absolutely nothing happened during most of the games. Poor strikers, poor wingers and poor backs, add to that next to none creativity and ****ty technique and passing, Van Dijk was the one that stood out of the bunch, I remember he has a good long pass and he can score from a distance if he gets the chance. His heading is decent as well but like I said before, due to his positioning, he rarely gets a chance in corner kicks.

His defensive skills are next to none. It's why Frank de Boer left him out of the squad this season. Check the previous page in this thread for a report on him.

I bet that would spark some riots, it'll be fun to watch those from this side of the North Sea. We saw lovely bonfires at Tottenham, worth a repeat <whistle>

Umbro put forward that proposal at a focus group once.... It was met with derision. I am sure a spot of post apocalyptic irony might make it a best seller.
