"Handicapped" and "invalid" imply disabled people are held back" If this isn't true then why bother with the Paralympics, it seems you cant say anything these days without offending someone. If I came up with my own language which only I understood so i could say whatever i wanted someone would be offended by not knowing what i was saying, where does it all end?
I believe 'handicapped' is currently deemed offensive terminology. These things change all the time. When I was growing up 'black' was offensive and the correct term was 'coloured', you'd be shot for saying it that way round now though
This one made me laugh quite a bit. Can you imagine how much craic you and your colleagues would have if your boss asked you to make a list like this?! Me and the lads are going to take a copy out with us at the weekend. Say one of the words, down your pint. Do you think other clubs do stupid **** like this but they get away with it? We just get pulled all the time because we are Liverpool (one other example is the Duncan Jenkins thing). I did note a distinct lack of any scouse words on the list though... meff, blert, wool, quilt, etc. Maybe the local lads are very well mannered
It's all bollocks imo. A word is offensive if it's meant to offend. How long did it take the word "special" to become an insult? Whatever euphemism the tossers come up with will become offensive over time. I'm old enough to remember when gay meant happy and carefree. I mean has anyone ever considered how meaningless it is to use the word gay for homosexual? Context and intent are crucial when assessing whether or not a word is offensive. I realise the club is just trying to raise awareness of some potential problems, but it isn't really practical to make things so black and white - doh, now look what I've done.
now Gay means stupid It doesn't even mean homosexual any more except in the literal sense, it is not an offensive word in the homosexual context unless you are using it on someone who is not actually gay. This bolllox is getting out of hand, if Gay is a bad word, then so must straight or hetro be offensive then as well by the logic used
I think the club went on an awareness course following the Suarez debacle - maybe this was their homework. [so it looks like they were paying attention]

The list & it's subsequent publication, was an idiotic idea. As now people have read that list, & can see words like C**n & N*****r listed on a sheet with the Liverpool crest, that is supposed to be used to advise staff of what's unacceptable, but it has now unwittingly associated those said words with the current Liverpool match day experience. you're the gift that just keeps giving on this issue.
Please urinate away from your current location you sunny day sky coloured, genitally size challenged person of indiscriminate sexual persuasion who may or may not have consumed all the meat pastry dishes on sale on match day.....
That's because you are probably a man. Can you imagine the pain a woman would feel hearing that? She doesn't have a choice. (Don't say they can have gender-realignment surgery, because that isn't on either!) Just like you wouldn't be offended if I said to you "don't be black/Chinese/Hispanic/whatever" if you weren't one. /Seriously though, this list is ridiculously implemented. //Can't wait to shout "****ING TWATS" to all visitors on Anfield road stand (cos that's fine apparently).
Of course you can just take random words: e.g. C'mon Tobes, we all know you're a penicil sharpener; you love sharpening pencils don't you?, not just yours but other people's pencils. Nothing but a prolific pencil sharpener.....
My reply wasn't serious. He is right though, "don't be a woman" is one of the most pathetic insults I've heard. Usually "don't be a..." is followed by ***/twat/dick etc. The fact that "don't be a woman" has ended up on this list of words-that-shall-not-be-mentioned is pretty laughable.
