This is a case where 2 + 2 can make 4, or 5. I do not dismiss it offhand, as Caulker spent a season at Swansea (so living in Wales is not an issue for him as it might be for others) .
Did I hear once that he had some girl up the duff when he was at Swansea. Going to Cardiff may be coincidence but if he does have a little-un down that way, could explain being off form if his private life has been hassle.
IMHO in these days of the Bale saga, tonight shows how 2 + 2 can easily be made to be 444. We'll know more soon enough tomorrow. The only other info I got on the kid was that Roma were allegedly tracking him too (so prepare yourself for Roma being the new Mousers ) .
If rumours on twitter are to be believed (I may as well stop there...) Kaboul has potential long term fitness problems. This guy at under 5m isn't exactly expensive in the modern day and has the ability to cover vertonghen as the ball player of cbs. Rumours of caulker must be bollocks. We'd never let him go under 23. Want to see more of him this year. Perhaps the other bloke could be either of kaboul's cover or dawson's eventual replacement. Good to be back by the way!
Eurosport are reporting 'Tottenham's ludicrous valuation' re: the Bale saga. Perhaps someone should advise them that he is not for sale and any 'valuation' has come from RM via Marca. As for Caulker I doubt if we will sell him unless someone else is coming in or he has requested a move. I see him as the future.
Have we weathered the storm?... ... Speaking shortly after agreeing to move to White Hart Lane, Paulinho revealed he had been told by Spurs that Bale was staying. I've read elsewhere that the Bale bid is now £90m + Coentrao. The same person states that a deal might happen if it became £100m + Coentrao. I've said many a time that I don't want him to go...but that is a damn good offer. Also I don't want Caulker to go - he's quality.
YV - I know, doesn't make any difference, its still about the general subject of an offer thats been around for a week and ignored, like I said, its the first positive article I've read, and more surprised by who, and as you point out 2 days ago. It got missed in amongst all the negativity, its a start is it not.
£90m + Coentrao is ridiculous. No one can seriously argue with that - Bale IS NOT WORTH THAT. Never. Ever. Sorry.
£90m up-front is a massive deal. £90m in instalments is worth considerably less to us as fans IMO, as we need it straight away
It looks like this could be turning into a test of Perez's credibility - his reputation for always getting his man. Don't underestimate the pride factor - the Spanish are very proud people. If Perez really is determined, this could turn silly, and or, nasty!..
£90m is a lot of money. It wouldn't all go on players though. £10m instantly on wages - all of our current players would need financial improvements to keep the rest at the club - especially those disgruntled at Bale leaving (e.g. Paulinho who has specifically stated he was told Bale was staying) £50m on new players - if Soldado is £26m then £50m is around 2, maybe 3 depending on position, top players - I'm thinking another striker (Jackson Martinez?), Bernard/Eriksen and we'd already have Coentrao £10m to go into the pot for the future/other costs £20m on the new stadium The projected cost of the stadium, according to Wikipedia (), is £400m - maybe even more than £20m would go on the stadium - perhaps £40m?
Perez has turned the Neymar signing into the equivalent of the Arms race. More fool him. Even worse when the man staring across the negotiating table is Levy.
