I'm of a mixed view about massive discounts or freebies for kids. Yes, could say its good to hook them young. Just wish the club (and other clubs) were more aware of the loyalty that many fans have in their adult years. It is a bit daft that someone who has supported the club and feasible had a season ticket for 35 years, pays the same price someone who has had a ST for one year pays. I get it that the most loyal fans are the ones that clubs know they can exploit. So just be open about it and cut out all the emotional blackmail.
Oh buddy, me thinks you are stereotyping students now. Yes, there are students doing lesser degrees just to put off the day they have got to work for a living full time. They are in a minority trust me. The vast majority do find it hard to cope on the few hours they can work behind a bar or in a restaurant, or even in John Lewis of a weekend or when ever. Yes in the main they do work hard play hard but they are not earning anything like what they will need to later. I know they get a lot of bad press trust me, those are in the minority.
When i was a student nurse after rent i had fifty quid left a week, so tht was a season ticket out the window anyways
One thing that needs to be remembered for students as well, is travel cost. It's not bloody cheap to travel anywhere, I can guarantee for anyone going to uni outside of Southampton or Portsmouth, the cost for travel will be higher than the cost for the ticket. It's only fair to knock down the ticket price a bit to prevent students, who are far from rollig in money, from having to pay considerably more than anyone else going to the game.
Wise Scummer: "Guess what, you're now on my ignore list. See ya... Oh no, I wont." Did you wave your wand at the screen and shout: “Patralis Invisibliss ”
My understanding is if he is under the age on day of purchase. My grandson comes under the same category. Birthday in October if you see what I mean. This year he goes to the next category.
I'm a student and have managed to pay for a season ticket for the last 3 years as before i managed to get it off my parents! But these prices have me worried, i have a full time job over the summer i'm not sure i will be able to afford this one, travelling down from London every home game starts to get expensive!
Students have loads of Money, Up to £1500 free overdraft, £7,500 a year lone, tax free part time work and the vast majority have money off their parents. It's not like the young ones any more. Little less time strawpeadowing WKD blue in a Hawaiian grass skirt should do the trick. What are you guys doing up at this time any way. Countdowns not on for at least another 6 hours!
Actually Fran I would say you will get the same consession as last year. While it is true they have your date of birth on there, I cannot see them scrutinising each and every renewal application. They will just scan yours through as renwal on last years application. I could be wrong but I think you may be lucky!
As a graduate of Southampton University I can vouch that the Students there have to work very hard and they get a very good degree well earned. I also know how hard it is to make ends meet as a student especially if you get very little financial support from family. So the ticket disount for Students is OK in my books. Also just think about them returning to their homes after graduation and telling everybody about the faboulous football team they used to watch when they were Students.
After paying my Tuition fees and Accomodation for the year, I had £90 to live on! Unfortunately i don't beneift from any grants. I'm still not sure why i'm up either, not sure I wanted to be after seeing the season ticket prices for the upcoming season!
The new prices compared to other clubs are fair, but the increase on last season is a bit of a shock. Last season's prices were I admit good value for money (ave £14 a match) but even so a 41% increase has made me choke on my cornflakes somewhat. It's been quoted many times that "football is a business" and to expect recognition for loyalty or just being a fan is a little naive I'm afraid. We're there to be exploited the same as anyone else.

Failing that Empress road may be of some use...
Not moaning, just simply a bit dissapointed with the prices. Last year was great value for money, I was just hoping for more of the same!
Beddytare you dirty barsteward....I like it !! Think it's good to see fellow saints fans offering their assistance where required
Might be true for season tickets but I buy single tickets. I would have to lie...not very good at that. Old School I'm afraid. Still, perhaps not too late to learn. I expect anyone asking for a concessionary ticket will be quizzed though.
