As I said earlier, IF Bale goes, it will only be after Levy has nailed Snr Perez's financial balls to the floor!...
Just read the story in Marca. According to what they say, Levy is very angry. He considers it an insult that Real have come back so soon after poaching Modric to again try to steal our biggest star. They go on to say that Levy told Perez that Spurs was not Real's ****ing youth academy, and would not be treated as such. His demand of £125mil is, apparently, as much from anger as anything else. He is determined that Bale will only go if Real pay his price.
That might cost them less than the transfer fee. We all know how they go about acquiring land etc. Still, if its worth £400m+ to us then i'm game.
Superb! That's one way to deal with wums, I suppose. Some reports are suggesting that he wants £85m cash, plus a decent player. I think we should take that, if offered. No way is Bale going to be able to handle the pressure of being the world's most expensive player, not playing against a Barca team, where probably all of them are better than him. All I hope is that Levy gets all the money still owed on Modric, plus all of the £85m cash up front, as I am worried how Real is going to react when Bale turns out to be just another Modric for them. There's a very simply reason why British players tend not to play in Spain, it's because they tend to be found out soon enough. Yes, Bale's pace and strength are fantastic for the English game, but his technical skills, whilst undoubtedly better than the average home-grown player, are not a patch on the types of player who play for the big clubs in Spain. So, I say, let's take the £85m + player, get in our much-needed striker, and let's get on with the business of finishing in the top 4.
Levy looks like the villain from a Bond movie, in that photo. And a bloody nasty one, too! No way would James Bond escape the clutches of The Lev-Meister.
If the price of Bale goes up much more ENIC my be forced to make a hostile bid for Real Madrid under stock market rules.
I think it would be fantastic if we get Real to agree to pay £125m, and then sell Bale to PSG for £126m, out of nothing other than pure spite.
I said to a work colleague earlier that if we have set a value for Bale that we are actively sounding out PSG/Bayern/Barca etc in order to stick one up Real. Monaco! C'mon, they must want him. Falcao + Bale would be awesome For those of us who only semi-work in banking you might need to explain this.....
" Do you expect me to talk Mr.Levy?" Shouldn't it be ... Do you expect me to trade players for Bale, Levy ?? No, Mr Perez. I expect you to buy !!!
I think, if this move did go ahead, that a certain Snr Ronaldo will have his nose distinctly put out of joint. A more expensive, bigger star than him at Real? Not sure he could handle that!..
