he would leave one of the most competitive leagues in the world.. he would leave for a 2 horse league? if he wanted a guarantee of CL football he should move The Hoops north of the border.
Not to mention the money. I like it how they pay your years wages at the start of the season. The tax is a lot better, too.
but he claims that it's for footballing reasons. To ensure he plays champions league football. So I repeat why would he leave his family to play in a league where there isnt any competition? He should play north of the border if that's the case. He wouldn't have to move - and he's guaranteed CL football.
Well probably because you dont want to be the dude who says, "its for the money". Really, you cant compare Celtic to Real Madrid. I dont think even a Celtic fan would do that. I mean just weeks ago we were all saying that we should be a bigger draw for hooper than staying in celtic and now you are saying that he aught to choose Celtic over Real Madrid? Lets say that is the reason he wants to leave because of the Champions League. You are saying he aught to choose Celtic and their inevitable early failure or Real Madrid who will progress into the later rounds?
But his presence in the Celtic team could be what is needed for them to progress further into the competition.
Yea it may be, he is good but one man a team does not make. (as I am sure yoda would say) Bale going to Celtic would be a huge step down in his career. Maybe Real Madrid isnt the right choice but staying in Tottenham hardly seems like the right choice either. If he goes to Real Madrid and makes a big impact then think of the potential. He has a far better likely hood of hosting the Champions Leage trophy and a league trophy then he will at Tottenham. He is also fairly young. As someone who works in Texas I would think you might see the draw in moving to a new country and experiencing a different area for a while.
You get to play for the most famous club in the world with the most glittering history in European competition whilst living in a much nicer climate and only a couple of hours from home if you need to pop back, taking home much more money and going down in history as the world's most expensive player. You're right, I can't see why he'd do it.....
If i was monkey boy, i would be off like a shot. in fact i would have even put a trsnfer request in myself weeks ago. The thought of playing for one of the premier clubs in the world, in the best european competition there is, would surely be any players dream. Plus dont forget he is quite injury prone at times, and will make more money in three or four years with image rights alone to last him a life time should the worst happen, thats the only glass half empty comment from me today. There are so many things so much better should he be at Madrid, rather than Spurs. As for Celtic they are a mid table championship level team at best. We all know haow hard the league is ourselves. I dont think Celtic would get out of the championship for a few years should they ever join the english leagues. Saying that Bale would feel better if he came to HCAFC and gave something back to the game thats treated him so good so far. Not sure if he does leave EPL if he will ever return to play club football in the UK again never mind England. UTT
I like how half the spurs fans I've listened to on talk sport the last few weeks suggest he'd be being greedy if he moved to Real Madrid as if spurs are around an equal level
Irrelevant. You're making a good point apart from that bit. He's not going to sit and consider the 1998 CL winning team before signing. He'll be thinking about the here and now.
I think he should give it one more year at Spurs, one more year of being the main man and then head off to Madrid would be the best choice for him I think.
The sooner he leaves (was going to use 6 letter word beginning with p) the better, fed up of his diving, the adulation we are all meant to give him because he plays for the "successful and world famous" spurs, the fact it would really hack off Levy (that's the Spurs chairman not the fabulous Peter on Look North), the fact that he is a diving little sod who can then compete with another vain and arrogant git in Ronaldo as to who is the biggest diver, his stupid goal celebration etc etc - need I go on.
Hasn't Bale only dived a couple of times but now every time he is actually fouled the ref thinks it's a dive? Not saying it's not his own fault like of course it is but that's just how I see it now.
I can see why he is going though Id love him to stay in my favourite league. Money will be an issue but who wouldn't wants to sign for Madrid ?
