It's all nonsense, I agree. Just not sure why Ossie gets so hung up on it all. I care about next season, not even last year now.
As an outsider who actually quite likes Spurs, I want to see him leave. Beckham aside, when was the last time an English, Welsh or Scottish player moved abroad and achieved great things at a great club?* It must be bemusing for those outside of the British Isles that Bale would even consider turning Madrid down. The Lyon owner's comments about Spurs after Lloris joined last summer showed how the rest of the world views them as a club, no matter where they are in the context of English football. *Jon Woodgate's Madrid debut was 'great', but in a very different sense. It doesn't count...
Well the guy must be worth 20-25 points a season on his own, but the longer he stays the more reliant on him you'll be. On the other hand, I'd have no faith in Levy and AVB to spend the fee wisely if I were a Spurs fan. You've sold great players in the past and replaced them with some absolute ****e*. If you kept Bale and got a £20m striker and a decent centre-half you could challenge for the top-two IMO. *That from a Hull City fan...
Bale is a great player. If he is going to leave Tottenham then he should come to Manchester United. We are the best team in the country and it is only fair that the best player in the country should play for us.
Spursdisciple, you cannot blame teams like madrid for being interested in Bale as he is the best player in the country right now. I think he will stay at tottenham as no way is Levy going to sell him being the smart businessman he is. If you get a crazy offer from madrid such as 100 million then you should accept it as you could sign four top players for that price.
Just because HIAG isn't here for you to bully it doesn't mean you have to pick on Matth If you want someone to pick on you can do it to that Ginger pikey **** Arsenal mod
A great club is one that can produce and encourage the talents of great players. Look at the players we've created/nurtured, and that have been taken us off us by the so-called "bigger" clubs, and yet despite them all leaving, here we are challenging CFC and AFC, and not finishing very far behind (above CFC two seasons ago, in fact). Spurs is a big club and a great club, and we'll continue to develop the Bales and Modrics and Berbatovs, etc. And God help the rest of you when we finally have our stadium.
Bully me? Sorry, but I won't have that. Ozzie and I have a special bond, the kind of bond that only really great mates can possibly understand. We toy with each other, that's all. Ozzie is Sid Little to my Eddie Large. Sing them a song, Ozzie.
