Thats not the case though mate. He was told about 6 weeks ago (maybe more) that bale will be offered a new contract and will be staying, so he's relayed that info. No opinion has come into it. This is why i'm saying he's going to face so much abuse should bale leave, as even now after all we've gone through in the last couple of days, he's still tweeting "bale stays. new deal. not saying any more on it" and "too much crap on here*, beyond a joke" *(twitter).
other than that french striker, who have Arsenal signed? I've completely lost track of their transfer dealings.
Nobody I think. They were apparently very close to Bernard but now Hulk has had a chat with him and he's off elsewhere (Porto or Shaktar last I heard). Then they nearly got Higuain but that fell through too. Cazorla might be off to Athletico Madrid too. I think they're only really linked with Suarez now.
To be fair, Bernard is clearly a stitch-up between Minero, Porto, and the Dutch bank which has a stake in both clubs.
We got screwed by the same thing, so essentially all he needs to do is waste Barnet's time and he's covered all of North London.
The whole Bale saga is both annoying and mystifying. Annoying: whatever the outcome, including Bale going to Real this year, might bother me less than these incessant no-quote, no-news, know-nothing blasts from so-called news sources. Mystifying: 1. Real seems to be betting heavily on being able to bulldoze Levy. But Levy has a history of not being bulldozed. I personally am hoping fervently that if and when Bale does leave, he goes to Barca or PSG. Especially Barca, as I'd enjoy seeing him play against Real. You could make a case that selling him to either team for 10-20 million less will be worth it in the long run for discouraging tapping up of our players. 2. If reports are to be believed, a player I'd always thought was one of the more decent of the multizillionaire athletes is every bit as bad as most of them--the key phrase being "if reports are to be believed." In fact, Bale hasn't said a word yet (which isn't mystifying; it's his best negotiating stance). When he does, it should clear some things up. And, Spurf, I'm still trying to figure out if I want a smoothly greased slide down life's razor, or whether I might prefer a little grit to slow me down or knock me off....
I think it's win win for us...if he stays ok...if he doesn't....that's a lot of money. If we want to keep him then it should be for longer than this season. Since a fair few seem happy to let him go next year....I just feel uncomfortable that our CL hopes seem to be reliant on one individual if that is why many are content if he goes next year.
So.....after all this speculation about Bale.......has our new ground been forgotten about.I would like a return to our 40 to 60 thousand gates!!!!? Oh yes!We used to get 'em until some twit told everyone to sit down!!!!!!
This from The Independent. Obviously not sure of it's veracity. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...accept-100m-bid-from-real-madrid-8735693.html I'm torn a bit on this. It's a hell of a lot of money, but for a player who is literally irreplaceable. Plus, of course, it would be nice to tell those arrogant ****s to stick it where the sun don't shine!..
An interesting tweet I've just seen - "sky want bale gone as he's the face of BT". It does make u wonder...
And I wouldn't be gutted with that if he did. He deserves to play for the top teams in the world and I wouldn't begrudge him that especially if we made a £95 million profit. We may finally get started on the new stadium and what a deposit!
