11:45 BST: Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers could move to sign Benfica left-back Lorenzo Melgarejo on loan as he looks to increase his defensive options, according to reports. Rodgers believes the 22-year-old, who can also play in a more advanced left-sided role, would provide ideal competition for Jose Enrique. 10:35 BST: Newcastle have ended their pursuit of Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis after their latest offer for him was rejected, according to the Press Association. Reports suggest the Magpies had offered around £7 million for him, and this is what they could be missing out on: ( cheeky bid to put in???)
Lorenzo Melgarejo - very good going forward but useless defensively. Perhaps we're bringing him in as a LW rather than LB?
Think he is off somewhere as he has not been involved in anything with Valencia this summer. I was hoping it would be for us....
Melgarejo is not even a LB lol. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...704?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
This gives me hope that BR sees him as a LW rather than LB. If so, I think he could be a useful addition. Hopefully we can get Cissokho as LB
I would take both. I do like that he is direct when he plays as a winger, that will suit the league pretty well. As much as we have bought, I still feel we are going to bring like 4 more players in, especially if Suarez goes. The quality will vary depending again on Suarez.
I mentioned his name back when we were having the "who is a CDM out there" chat.... 13:35 BST: A little more on Cardiff City’s bid for Etienne Capoue being accepted, as mentioned earlier: Wales Online the bid is a Cardiff record £9.6 million, but that they could yet be frustrated by Atletico Madrid’s interest in the France international.
I don't remember hearing much about that but it could be a situation similar to M'Vila where the player gets big interest and feels he is bigger than his current club? If so, happens a lot ( we should know!!)
he's a dirk kuyt wannabe... it was the slip of a tongue type thing that rodgers does.. the kernals of truth are in his slips not in his spoofing.
