    That would be hell.

When I played two matches last week one was over after 13 and the other after 14 and I was still ****ed. The second was foursome so alternate shots anyway.

No enjoyment at all in thrashing about for 72 holes!

The most golf I've played is 27 holes we did 9, got breaktfast and the another 18. I thought that was way too much, your arms would be coming out of there joints by the end!

The driver worked a ****ing treat. It was landing on the range on about 220 yards uphill with **** balls. Reckon I will get it nearer 300 on the course.

So, talk me through this new wonder driver and Saturday's round.

Not looking good for 18 this week I don't think, unless I do end up staying up here Thursday which I'm not planning to at the moment.

I can't this week, opening the new office Thursday. .

The driver is lovely. Played ok over all. Went out on 47 then gave up on the 13th as the heavens opened.

Still having issues with my long irons. 6 onwards I'm fine with. Also my half / quarter swing pitches are still occasionally coming out at 45' angles.

Had a short game lesson the other night, was all about chipping from 10-20 yards off the green, worked quite nicely.

Same as before then, it is likely a case that your hands are going through with the shot but you're quitting on it a bit as your head is telling you it's not a full shot. Hence the club head gets left behind and the face opens up, shooting it off sideways. You need to commit to every shot but lessen your back swing if you aren't going for a full wedge for instance.

Takes a lot of practice but it's one of those things that needs to be worked on. Stand there and hit wedges with a half back swing and see how far they go. Same with a three quarter back swing, and then degrees of it. Commit fully to each shot and once you're hitting them consistently you will know how far you can hit a 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 wedge etc.

Most important part of golf is within 100 yards. It's ok wheeling away with a driver etc. but if the short game doesn't work you won't score low.

Indeed by best round was when I drove badly. But my irons were all good.

It's something which has crept in over the last month. Weird.

Agree with my half swing pitches though I think it is exactly that.

As to my long irons, I'm sure is psychological. I've got it in my head I struggle with them so I do. Where as 6 weeks ago I was hitting them beautifully.

Hit some peachy shots though Saturday. Hit a belter of a 6 iron from about 170 to with 2 feet of the pin. Uphill was very sexy.

Toward the end of the round as I got more used to the driver I got one over 300 yards which did put a bit of blood in it.
