28 Jul 2013 23:44:12 Striker Billy Clarke of Crawley is a £250,000 target for Bristol City. City will up their interest should their bid for Billy Sharp fail. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Clarke_(footballer_born_1987) 28 Jul 2013 23:35:14 Matt McClure of Wycombe is a target for Bristol City. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_McClure_(footballer) 28 Jul 2013 18:42:41 Bristol City have had a 400k offer to loan Billy Sharp for the season accepted - with view to a permanent move also part of the deal. The potential move is now in Sharp's agent's and the club's officials' hands. I can't see billy dropping back down to league 1 even for odriscoll, far too good for league 1 he proved that with scunny. 28 Jul 2013 21:50:34 Sharp won't move down two leagues. He's a class striker at least top end champ The question is does Billy Sharp play week in week out at Southampton? No! Has Southampton loaned him out before? yes! who to? Nottingham Forest last season! who was at NF? SOD! I really do think there's something in this story. Time will tell but we are in need of a Billy Sharp type striker. we can afford him now with the sale of Davies. Its just a case of if he wants to play for a manager he knows very well and has always played better under. no brainer! Watch this space guys. Now how true this is hard to say but this rumour won't go away same as the JET one that everyone said couldn't happen would really like it to be true but who knows.
Hi I'm Matt McClure, You may remember me from such football teams as Wycombe Wanderers, Hayes & Yeading, Burnham and Wealdstone. Simpson fans will get this
if all due respect i don;t see him dropping down to league 1. i think he will wind up at Reading with Adkins myself. but yet again Adkins gave him no time in the prem so maybe not!
I think Sharp is a good player, but we've hyped up players many times before. Who remembers when we hailed Baldock as one of the signings of the season, and thought that the playoffs weren't too far away because West Ham fans were pissed off with losing Baldock, only to gain Maynard? For me, the important aspect is SOD. If SOD can work well with Sharp then I say we get him. I'm happy to lose most players if they cannot work with our manager, and I'm happy to accept anyone that SOD thinks can make us a force in League 1.
The fact that it is a loan with a view to a transfer makes it slightly more believable if he comes and fires us to the Championship then he could stay if not he would be able to walk away and look for something better. From our point of view would be great as he would be the icing on the cake, an almost new young squad looking to prove themselves, and to have a proven goalscorer like him would give the rest of the team confidence, and could just be the difference between a reasonable season and a great couple of years.
It would be great, but I dont see it happening, too good for us. he would be sure to fire lots of goals in L1. if we got Sharp and Pack to go with the signings we have made, hold on to Moloney and Cunningham and we will be champions !
just think of a attacking force we could have if he did come Adomah JET Baldock Sharp (and if Adomah stays of course)
Another good CM and a striker is all this team needs at the moment if we keep everyone that is, get those two missing pieces into the jigsaw and the sky could be the limit we could be looking at another GJ scenario with promotion followed by a sustained assult on getting to the premiership the team is looking good at the moment just a couple of tweaks and could be very good indeed, Burt and O'Driscoll are working their socks off in getting us the best players they can.
Adomah-----------------------JET -----------Sharp Baldock Would suit everyone better. It will never happen though
Or maybe ------------Fielding Moloney Flint Williams Cunningham -------------Wynter ----Adomah JET Wagstaff ---------Sharp Baldock That.....Team......Looks......PERFECT!
I think its going to be either or... Pack or Sharp ? Really we need both (and maybe a classy young centre back) Time to get your checkbook out Steve
Part of our rebuild is to get more backsides in the seats and although the changes that have been rung might prove a good omen adding Billy Sharp to the mix could make for a tasty season at the gate if all goes to plan.
Think Adding Billy Sharp could add a couple of thousand to the first few Gates even more if he starts getting among the goals
