Another thread opened as a wums' charter! 'Pool are always ahead of Spurs in this kind of thing, with the bookies, because Mousers are the most deluded fans on the face of the Planet. At the start of every season they believe that "this season will be our season" and their unfounded optimism encourages them to go an put all of their hard-earned dole money down with the bookies, thereby shortening the odds. All that the bookies odds tell us, in this instance, is that the red Mousers remains as deluded as he has been since 'Pool's star began to fade. And that is all they tell us. Does this story really come as anything of a surprise to you, OP?
Sporting Index have Spurs just ahead of Liverpool in their PL Championship Index with Chelsea and City tied first and Man U third. This is more likely to be reflecting sophisticated opinion than a normal bookie.
Have to agree with this to be fair. It's like how England's odds are always short tournament time as well.
Odds for top at Xmas Top at Christmas Man City 19/10 Man Utd 9/4 Chelsea 3/1 Arsenal 7/1 Liverpool 8/1 Spurs 28/1 West Ham 200/1 Crystal Palace / Hull 5000/1 QPR N/A Are Pellegrini's sides known as v strong starters? If not, worth a punt on us. Surprised Spurs are such long odds again, as they are usually okay until Feb when they fall away. The bookies obviously know things we don't
What are the odds for United finishing outside the top 4? I bet they are pretty long. Could be worth laying down a sneaky tenner.
For us, the 2nd half of the season (on paper) is the easier of the two. For City it's the reverse, think they have to go to Old Trafford and possibly WHL and the Emirates.
I thought about this bet too. The problem is there is no transfer window for managers, so if Moyes starts crashing and burning Man Utd can just dump him and beg any competent manager to prop them up until the end of the season.
I think a lot depends on what happens with Bale and Suarez. As much as I want us to sign Suarez, if he stays at Pool and Bale ditches the spuds for a big team, then Pool could finish above North London's lesser team.
District line, did you name yourself after the district line tube in London? I am only asking because I have been on that tube and it is a great ride.
No offence mr erik but i dont think chelsea will win the league. Too many egos at your club and your strikers are championship quality. I think mourinho will be fired by christmas as roman will start interfering again.
londons ec winners, i think my predictions are spot on if past events are anything to go by. Your club is a circus rather than a football club and the return of mourinho wont change that. I think you will finish third at best. The age of chelsea are over and it is the time the Manchester clubs.
To be honest though, I do think Chelsea has the best first team in the league. Any team would be thrilled to have luiz, mata, hazard and oscar in the team. I think mata is the best player in the league along with bale and it is crazy that chelsea want to replace him with rooney.
