How do we stop critics putting-up certain players up as scapegoats??As soon as the "latest scapegoat" goes, another appears!!This can't be good for the club, players or fans.I am sure that all our players are giving 100% to the cause, and,if they weren't,PDC would move them on!We have had fans on this board calling for players to be moved on....obviously WUMS!!Let's get behind the club's management and players, support them all,and look forward to the coming season.
I've said it for years...I firmly believe that a section of our fan-base go to games for the sole intention of whinging, and having a scapegoat to vent their frustrations on seems to be a bit of a necessity..
The players did their best yesterday considering the pitch and opposition, I am really exited about the coming season Karlsson, Cabral, Garinccherini, Watmore and hopefully Altidor starts scoring in the friendlies.
I can't get my head around Monty at all. He's either a really weird wum or a clueless Sunderland fan.
McClean. Apparently it was his fault it rained in Hong Kong cos he'd bought a vest at Primark before they flew
I am not a "Scapegoat" person - but McClean is terrible - has been every game I saw him in last season and pretty much the same in pre-season but I'll give him a break as the pitch was shocking. He looked great when O'Neill first got him in the starting line up but then seemed to go backwards in last close season and started last season looking a shadow of the player we had - I remember saying "Imagine these 3 behind the striker - McClean - Sessegnon - Johnson" and saying how terrified they would be - If he has improved under Paolo then great but if not then he has to go as he's simply not good enough
That mad thing is, Nobody even needs to throw McClean's politics into the mix. He's ****, that's enough to sell him. The rest is just irrelevant.
McCLean- **** Larsson- ****, but would give him a chance next season as back up rm. As a cm, **** Gardner- Alright rb but nothing special but as a cm? ****. I'm not making them a scapegoat. It's genuinely how I asses them, and it's fair to asses them as they are the weak points in the squad if you balance it out on where we're thin. I could add Cuellar but we're alright for CB's so it's less relevant and less of an issue.
McClean actually started last season well and scored three in the league cup. He got two in the league also. Yes he didn't play as well as the previous season but he's still an effective player. In my time supporting Sunderland I've never known a player booed onto the pitch,.this can hardly help his confidence.
