No in all seriousness that's where I think you'll come, but it's the Championship so who knows could be anywhere really couldn't it.

If Pearson can get rid of the deadwood - (Paul Konchesky, Danny Drinkwater, Ben Marshall, Jamie Vardy, Sean St. Ledger & Paul Gallagher) and replace with better, and gets Wood and Nugent into the same goalscoring form they showed 1st half of last season then you should be there or thereabouts! But so will lots of other teams!

I think next season has the potential to being one of the best Championship seasons ever as Reading, QPR and Wigan have Premiership standard players in their squads, good managers, and money to burn. Bolton, Forest and Watford have bought in some quality players (as have we, but I'd be happy with a top half finish).
The margin between success and failure in this league are ridiculously small (Palace went up winning 19 games, and Peterborough were relegated winning 15) - If Leicester get off to a flyer and Nigel gets the fans on side again, anything is possible, but if not, he could be gone by October!

I think Leicester are currently 2 players (CB and a tough CM) away from a top 6 finish - get these positions sorted and you'll be in the mix!!

TC made a serious post <yikes>

He isnt far off wrong. With the exception of Marshall but its more about what we can get out of what we have rather then what we need to buy if were going to be successful

TC where do you see Millwall ending up?

I think you will hover around the top six and if you don't make it you will be within a few points. Either way dont think you will go up. Just don't think you have brought in enough new blood to last a whole season at the level needed to get promoted maybe you will before deadline day? Good luck anyway.

Yeah I reckon you will be lower midtable around 16th.

Millwall always seem to buy dud players but make a player out of them

Historically - yes, but this season the new manager had drafted in players experienced at this level - McDonald, Bailey, Chaplow, Martin and Morison - with rumors that Shorey will sign up this week. I can see us finishing in the top half, but who knows - not many teams that get relegated from the Prem go straight back up so all to play for - I'm definitely more optimistic than I was at the start of last season <ok>

Just out of curiosity, how does everyone think we'll do? I personally feel we'll stay up with the quality players we brought in. We've certainly bought better than we did last time in the Prem and if we do get relegated (hopefully not) we'll have the players to get us back up or clubs will come in for them and we'll get good value out of them.

I think it will be touch and go for you whether you stay up. If Danny Graham cant find his Swansea form and Sagbo turns out to be a dud I think you have had it.

The rest of your team I think should just be enough to keep you up but I would worry about your frontline. If I was you I would break the bank for Jordan Rhodes

I don't think I'd be happy with the risk. Talks of him going for £8m and with him already being on £45k, I'd rather not. But it seems like unless we decide to bring in another one in on loan later in the window, we're done in the strikers department. Our main priority now is to bring in a midfielder.

Thanks for your honest assessment TC <ok>

I get the feeling we won't be getting rid of any of the deadwood you mention, and they will all be a part of the squad this coming season. Could go one of 2 ways... They all know they were looking to be sold, and so won't care at all or put the effort in... Or try and prove a point, and fight for their place. Guess we'll see!

I think the league will be so close, everyone will be there or thereabouts <laugh>

Saying that about the relegated sides though, you just never know... I would have said last season that Blackburn, Bolton, and Wolves all came down with Premiership standard players. But look where they all ended up? Not saying they won't do well, but it's by no means certain.

Totally agree about Bolton and Forest though. Forest have made some good signings (some I would have been happy with for us...), and seem to do well under Billy (as much as it pains me to say it...).

And also agree that we need another CB and a tough CM, but doesn't look like any will be coming our way!

First and formeost I'll say that I hope you stay up ...

... but I do think you will be involved in the dog fight. When you got promoted I thought you'd have a reasonable chance of consolidating in the Prem due to there being some sides there (outside of the promotees) that I thought you were capable of bettering over the course of the season - two of those were Norwich and Sunderland - but their close season purchases currently look more impressive than yours if I'm honest - just depends how they 'gel'.

Cardiff although fairly quite until now, seem to be stepping up their game with some quality incomings.

On the plus side - Mark Hughes at Stoke should see them guaranteed a very tough season LOL.

I thinlk Palace are going to find it particularly tough - a defence containing Gabidon and Delaney looks likely to be ripped to shreds to me.

I wish you all the best - but if I had to pick my pool of those that will contest the bottom 3 places right now it would be, Palace, Stoke, Cardiff and yourselves - with one from Fulham, West Brom and West Ham ... as I said at the start, I hope you survive.

To be fair, I have been quite impressed with the signings you have made, and think you'll have a good season. I reckon a top-half finish for you.

I think you'll stay up to be honest, but obviously it will be tough. Can't really call who will go down (apart from Palace!).

Not sure about McGregor in goal, but Figueroa is a good signing. Same with Graham, not sure if he'll score the goals to keep you up. I think he's better with a partner up top, and didn't suit Swansea's style really.

    Good luck though!
