It works on player development up until the age of 23.

What I've worked out is that Saints are entitled to a % of the potential 5% based on development between the ages of 12-17, and Spurs for 17-23.

So we will both get a separate % for development, pro-rata, based on time spent and investment during the period in Bale's development.

 

I talked about this before - basically because we sold him at 17, we'd be due about 2m.

 

I can't work out whether we'd be due 2% or 2.5% but yeah around £1.5m-£2m is likely. Not really worth getting too excited about!

We've never been out of talks with him.

 

Valencia are profoundly skint, so I think this deal has legs. They may not want to sell, he may not want to go, but if we up our offer none of that may matter, as the club is now essentially in receivership to the City council. They're not in a position to keep turning down offers.

 

They are, however, in a position to keep delaying offers in order to force Soldado out the door.

 

Way it's looking both will be sold with Rami as well.

We all thought the numbers between 8 and 10 were absurdly low. Let's just pretend the extra money comes from the Bale solidarity payments and all is well.

Chambers will be our back up, I still doubt we were ever in for Gamez. Same reason I don't see us in for a lb as Targett will be back up to Shaw in a few seasons so Fox is fine until then.
