I have faith in TF to get things right, but he has got the wrong people running the club day to day - namely PB and HR.

Beard hasn't got a clue IMO, and if he has gone away this week (not sure if it is true?) then that shows what I mean.

But back to Taarabt - I will be gutted to see him go. We have no one to replace him and no one who can create chances for us.

That's the real issue - we have no creativity without Adel. The other part of me wonders whether Adel wants to play for us any longer. It's all well and good to blame HR (I have done so myself) but if Adel considered himself to be a top-flight player (which I'm sure he does) then I imagine he wants away and is acting appropriately.

Having said that, I've no idea what's really going on!

Exactly my worry. Without him we look clueless up front. Its obvious, but we will only win by scoring goals! :)

Sadly, perception always becomes fact. Conventional wisdom becomes the truth.

I've never met Adel Taarabt, let alone been his manager. I'm not a fly on the wall at the club, so have no real idea what is going on, what has been said to whom. The only inescapable fact seems to be that successive managers have found Taarabt to be a petulant, immature and unprofessional boy in great danger of squandering the gifts he has at his disposal unless he bucks his ideas up.

Hard to disagree with that. Hope he works it out and plays to his maximum for us but sadly can't see that happening.

It is hard to disagree with what Uber says. Problem I have is this.............without Taarabt, who will make anything happen? Answers on a post card.........

That's exactly the dilemma we were talking about a few posts up. No creativity or incisiveness without Adel.

It's a fair question, Col. In the myriad threads concerning Taarabt I'm not sure I've seen anybody name any alternatives.

And that's because, and trust me, I really am not trying to start yet another debate on Taarabt, he is such a unique talent. These kind of players are as rare as hen's teeth!!
Probably has to go because of his ****e attitude and ****e relationship with Harry and yet.................probably irreplaceable!!

I'm completely aligned with you, Col. The lad could've been up there with the likes of Stan, but makes Bowles' attitude seem almost saintly at times.

True.......although I think it's easy to forget just what an attitude Stan had at times!! Loved him all the same mind!
I think it was Dave who mentioned that he believed that Adel had very bad advisors and not a great deal of intelligence. I suspect the same and it's such a shame that all that talent is probably disappearing out of the door. I think we'll see some great things from him over the next few years...........unfortunately though, not for us.

I think it also says something that Morocco, a country not rich in world class footballers, resists the temptation to make him the first name on the team sheet. You'd think they'd put his name down first time, every time... But they don't because he's difficult to please even in that environment.

Morocco should ask Warnock to be their manager.

    Again......

When he's gone then maybe we'll have to learn to play as a TEAM..Not 1 man show with 10 supporting actors........!!!

It works for almost every other team in all the leagues...!!

Yes he is talented and can do amazing stuff with the ball...but he's a F-wit and is squandering chance after chance. In short, he is doing us more harm than good now he's not even playing !!

I accept that he WAS amazing a few years ago, but as with Mackie & Derry ( i think someone said - Beth?) That was then, this is now.
Exactly what is he doing to help our team right now?
3 Manager plus a national manager fail to pick him. What is the common denominator? Are they all stupid?

    Come on guys...wake up! <ok>

    OK try this then

My son has just had his sports day at school. He is one of the House Captains (Freeman) and regularly comes in the top 3 positions at chosen events.

Now his best mate from another house (Perkins) got the award for the "Most Valuable Athlete' and earned himself a trophy and prize. He won all 4 of his events and set a new school record for high jump.

Yet it was my sons house that took the winning trophy for most points won. For this my sons colours are on the Main Trophy on display.

The point being that The output of a TEAM will always exceed the output of an individual.....

I think this is where we are at with Adel. So, yes he may be massivley talented but just because of that it doesnt mean our team needs him to win!
We can and will survive with or without him. We may even improve as a TEAM.

    Does that make any sense?

That's a great analogy QL. And well done to your son. A chip off the old block eh?

This is my stance on Adel, If he stay's and does well for us , then great. If he doesn't want to be here, then we move him on. Quite simple. I like him as a player and all that, but he has not proven to be all that we thought he would of late.
Norwich and Swansea have survived the second season syndrome without having Taarabt in their side. West Ham and Southampton have managed to stay up comfortably without him too. We now have Cardiff, Hull and Palace promoted without him playing for them. So if all of these sides can achieve what they have without Taarabt, then why can't we with all our superstars? Taarabt is not the be all and end all. If he stays and does well for us, then great. Happy days. If he doesn't want to be here then he can go.

Could Taarabt's lack of or light training have something to do with it being ramadan for him?
