Providing we can keep him of course. Pl managers sackings will begin in about eight weeks. You can bet mcd name will be bandied about if he's doing a good job with us which I assume he will be doing. Hope, for once, we have a manager who gets to see out his contract

I'd see relegation as a positive, though I don't think it will happen - after all, we are going to miss you lot next season when you go down, otherwise

The problem with this approach is that the youngsters that make an impression will be sold and you are back to square one - they want to see a club with ambition; then athey are more willing to be part of it...

For me, we need to show ambition for promotion ASAP - what point sending the message to players that you ain't got a fat cat's chance of getting us up!! Does McDermott believe in them or not? If not - then get in the talent and show intent. If yes, he believes in them - then stop faffing going on about 'next season' and tell your players to get on with it and prove they got what it takes!!

 

I don't think its BM faffing about, Real estate, he told the owners what he needed and they have been unable to provide it, though judging from the signings he has made, his demands were not excessive. I get your point that we will again lose our good players, and you could be right, but the worst thing we could do as fans is go into this season demanding first season success, get on the teams back, get on the managers back, when it does not immediately look like happening. How many seasons have we said "it has to be this season" and then it does not happen?

What we need this season is - if we can't get promotion, and to me that seems unlikely - to build MOMENTUM, so we end the season with everyone believing next season is really going to be the one it happens, if that is the case and the players believe it, the good ones may well stay for one more season.

(And Mighty - you know full well I don't really believe Leeds will be champions, that was just for PSD's game - on the other hand, I do think Millwall could be perilously close to relegation .............. and we'd miss you ).
