In terms of action it has all gone quiet. We've only rejected a bid as far as we know. Don't think much else can happen until we are back on English soil.
No offense guys, but I think Eriksen is holding out for CL football. We're rumoured to have a big interested too, but I think the champions league is what's posing the problem. Why leave Ajax unless you're going to be making career progression? Obviously Liverpool are a massive club with a lot of history, but to a lot of footballers its about what's happening NOW . Unfortunately neither of our clubs can offer CL football and both are going through a transition period. The only thing that favours both clubs, is the fact that he could be guaranteed first team football (especially if we lose Bale), and he's stated that he wants to play regularly. He seems to have his head screwed on, so let's hope that's a big enough factor. If either club does manage lands him, it'll be incredible business IMO. However, if he ends up on the verge of a move, I have a nasty feeling that a CL club will come sniffing at the last minute and it'll be game over for Liverpool and/or Spurs unfortunately.
in the end either he think he can build something here or he's just into riding others coat tails. if he's interested in the flat track stay at ajax and win several dutch titles.... if he wants to bench warm someplace fine. if he watns to come and we don't bid more fool us.

General consensus re. Lorenzo Melgarejo is that he's a very attacking wing back who can't defend to save his life. Paulo Machado is a pretty uninspired target - a player who was destined for great things as a youngster but failed to live up to expectations. If these are the best targets that the committee can come up with, then I'd be worried.
