Saw this on another board, thought it could be fun... Any visitors to this board, feel free to post your predictions of how you think we will do this season below Might be interesting to look back at the end of the season...
Top six. I have a feeling that Reading will be the outstanding team this year. You have the pedigree and manager to be there or there abouts especially if you don't fade in the New Year as you did last season. Why do you want to prove me wrong?
Top 6 but no higher imo. Unlike NZHorn I don't think you have the manager to get promoted out of this league and think until you bring in a quality manager you're only real hope of promotion is through the play-offs because I just cannot see the consistency coming from your team.
Think this is a good idea Jack - will be good to get a perspective that is not our own - even if that means there will be some merely coming on to predict that we will have a miserable season etc, more in hope than expectation - such is football. My own view is that the league will be a lot tougher this season than for many years - certainly than last when, with all due respect to those that did get promoted (deservedly), there was no outstanding team i.e that you could say was going to be immediately 'comfortable' in the Prem next season etc.
Based on the current squad I think we'll do well to get top 6. We've got an excellent first 11. But absolutely no depth.
Here's a more interesting read... http://footballrepublik.com/east-midlands-teams-and-the-premier-league/ Most important part (obviously...)
Watford for me to win the league IF they hold there nerve after the Wembley loss. With just Vydra and Chalobah a ? they look strong. The championship without a doubt will be a killing zone and tougher than ever. Glad we are out of it. The best 6 after 46 games will prevail as always. Good luck.
That is a good summation - we will be getting some loan players in, apparently the only reason we haven't is because Man Utd are still abroad. Might get Keane back...
Man Utd fans are getting all excited over Jesse Lingard incidentally, didn't do a lot here but didn't get much playing time to be really judged.
I'm still sticking with my opinion, and I still think Pearson will go as your board won't tolerate failure this season, hope you prove me wrong,
I personally feel you will just miss out on the Play-Offs but I'll see who else you'll bring in first.
