Can just imagine him walking into the meeting with john W hendry and slapping that dossier on the table and telling him

BR- this will win you the league title john

JWH- great lets celebrate by smoking a £50 note, who do we need to sign

    BR- joe alen

JWH - think I need to stay of the £50s, thought you said joe alen, thought he was a rounder's player

BR - its in the dossier john, its the new bible at anfield.

I understand Liverpool, as their best player wants to go. But Fear from both sides? More specifically, how are Arsenal in fear exactly?

Quickly looking it up - in the 17 seasons Wenger has been our manager for the end of a season, Liverpool have finished above us on 3 occasions (one of those occasions by one point despite losing more games than us we drew a couple too many.

Fear that if we miss out on Suarez, we are left without not many other world class targets?

I think we have our targets lined up already and probably a back-up plan for if we don't get Suarez. But i think we will get the deal done. No-one else is in for him and its obvious he wants to take the next step in his career and he wants to do it now. We finally have the cash to spend and i think we will do what it takes to get Suarez.

  8. Well, this board seems to have gone downhill. What happened to the decent posters I was talking to the other day? They seem to have been replaced with disrespectful kids <doh>

Well that's what happens when certain posters come in and start disrespecting the club.

In all honesty, these are much the same Arsenal fans that think other Arsenal fans are deluded if they talk about winning stuff.

No matter what else, if you think Arsenal fans are deluded for having hope, that delusion is still less than Liverpool fans having the same hope, given that Liverpool need that much more improvement. So, although it could be termed disrespect, it is not really any different to what they are saying about our club.

I would have thought Liverpool fans were more acclimatised to the deeper regions of the premier league, and were used to bottom feeding, given that you hang out there so much, but apparently not.

  12. Its the same on our board with the invasion of Arsenal fans.

Its just frustrating since I thought it was a decent discussion on here the other day (despite me being on my own <laugh>)

It's when your buddies arrived that it all went downhill! More opposing fans and the odd "you suck" comment and its easy enough to get everyone at each others throats lol

  14. I don't think many (Liverpool and Arsenal) are deluded about their aims, it only goes that way once the bickering starts.

We're never going to agree on certain things such as a joint starting eleven, but a decent discussion regarding the Suarez saga doesn't have to be like that.

Maybe we've just run out of **** to say?

Maybe the way Arsenal have gone about business as been seen as disrespectful by Liverpool fans and its boiled over into here?

Maybe Arsenal fans think Liverpool are vastly over valuing Luis and its boiling over onto the Liverpool board?

Maybe its a bit of everything?

It's all flaired up as well due to all the comments from ex-Liverpool players disrespecting Arsenal and going on about how its a step down and they dont understand what the draw is of a team like Arsenal. Deluded wum comments like that appearing in articles in the news has set off a load of us Arsenal fans lol

I think it is more that we have been through this and know how it ends. Once a player like this wants to move, it is all over, and there is a certain innocence from the Liverpool fans (and more than a few past players) in saying that Suarez should care about loyalty and the history of Liverpool.

Liverpool did support him, but let's face it that support mirrored their own self interest. What were they going to say? "We think the ban should be longer FA, throw the book at him! A jail sentence would be a good idea!"

And as for history, if we hear of someone wanting to leave Leeds United they don't wheel out someone from the 70s, to tell them that the glory days will soon be back.

Liverpool's tactics have been a little disrespectful of Arsenal. I was partially joking about Liverpool being bottom-feeders but I'm afraid right now we are a richer club, we have a more widely respected manager and we have a toe-hold in the CL.

All these things mean that we are a more desirable club to play for than Liverpool. Denying that is delusional, disrespectful and slightly mad.

  19. I have openly said many time that Arsenal is a step up (as have other Liverpool posters) but not as big a step as Luis should be looking for (same). The only Liverpool posters to say different are the ones looking for a heated debate and/or have a complete disregard for anything non-Liverpool.

Personally, I think its quite easy to tell the two apart. Same goes for Arsenal fans. My comment above was more about some of the decent posters I was talking to the other day getting sucked into these games.

I've said before that Suarez is a perfect Moneyball signing. He does have some baggage and that means that the top clubs are a little bit less keen on him. It isn't just his "performances" for Liverpool but he has some previous as well.

I would say he needs to put in 1-2 years at a team like Arsenal before the Real Madrids and PSGs will touch him. He is still young and he knows that if he can impress at Arsenal and keep his nose clean, he will erase the past. He could do it at Liverpool, but nothing says "I am turning over a new leaf" like changing clubs.
