Bale missed the spuds match with South China today due to a 'strained buttock'

I know Levy wants him to stay, but that's a little too forceful wouldn't you say ? <whistle>

Half-hearted sugar daddy attempts like with Blackburn and QPR are probably much worse for football. And one of the biggest messes in recent history is Portsmouth, which was on 'arry.

A bit harsh to call Jack Walker's involvement with Blackburn 'half-hearted' and to throw in the same bracket as QPR. He was a massive fan of the club and brought them their greatest movement ever when they won the PL.

    ****ing Hell <laugh>

That looks painful, I can't see him being fit for their game against Monaco with a strain like that

If Bale does go for 100 million Euros, that's a hell of a lot of money for Spurs to buy some top quality players.

  9. Considering how they performed last season when Bale was missing, they'll need it too <laugh>

You believe what you read in the Sun!

The clue that this is journalists making things up is the 'broken promises' line: of course a player negotiating a multi-million pound contract and advised by agents and lawyers is going to rely on oral 'promises' rather than what the contract actually says. And you call Levy a 'spiv' because he wants to enforce a contract freely entered into?

The problem with Modric and Bale has arisen because they are both now much better players than they were when they signed their last Spurs contract. Legally that increase in value belongs to the Club but the players effectively have the power to get some of it by threatening the the equivalent of withdrawing their labour. Spurs fans went off Modric because he effectively refused to play when he wasn't allowed to break his contract. I'm sure we'll go off Bale too if he does likewise. I don't blame either of them for wanting to go to a club with a chance of winning the CL - that's just life.

Sounds like paper nonsense, but it's certainly the kind of thing Man Utd would do.

    100M EUR for Bale? <yikes>

They were probably the most one-man team in Europe last season, but they already have a decent enough team that adding 3-4 quality players would massively improve them.

Here's to hoping they keep Bale and rely on him just as much next season.

P.S. Are Madrid nuts for offering that kind of money, or Spurs for supposedly rejecting it? My money is on both or this story being bullshit.

The amount of the bid is what I'm more skeptical about.
