Lewis Hamilton great pole by his standards here which has always been one of his best tracks.

But as we know the Mercedes chews up it's tyres so it only means one direction for the Silverarrows on a track which is still pretty hard to overtake on. So my question to you is, how far back will Lewis go?

Winner's will recieve a lovely Signature designed by me: "Ner ner ner, I know more about F1 than you! - Hungary 2013"

I reckon it's unlikely he will hold Vettel and Romain at bay for the full GP, but keeping Alonso and the rest behind is very possible as his race pace was equal...ish to theirs.

I'll go 3rd behind Vettel and Alonso.

If the weather is really hot, then it may be 5th if the Lotus boys can get ahead

I said 3rd on the poll but I meant fourth.
Grosjean to win ahead of Alonso and Vettel.

Fun fact: Hamilton has won twice at Hungary, both times from pole. Despite Hungary's reputation, since Schumacher in 2004 he's actually the only driver to have won from pole position.

Vettel's starts have tended to be superb but Hamilton's are improving. If Vettel is not ahead by Turn 2, he will find it very difficult to overtake, probably allowing Hamilton to eke out a lead before his first stop. I'd also expect both to be on three stop strategies, so two-stopping traffic is likely to be a factor. Of course, the race also has other contenders, especially the Lotuses, who are not only quick but may also be two-stopping. I'd also expect two stops from Button who'll be starting on new rubber and doing one of the longest first stints, and perhaps a Ferrari if they mix strategies between drivers.

As I've said, it will be critical to avoid getting tangled with slower cars, and vital for early stoppers to pass those on older tyres as early as possible. But in the event of being held up, it is equally important not to become frustrated.
Drivers will need to keep a cool head in Hungary's heat. And it is hot! And of course, with such a tight, twisty circuit this could easily lead to errors and/or damage.

If tyres hold up for this race – which as I've said before, I fully expect – I can see Hamilton just about fending off all comers to take his maiden victory for Mercedes because he's really good at this venue and has won from Pole before. We'll see. But as I write this, I have a strange feeling of deja-vu…

Yup that Mercedes engine + top speed is finally paying off now IMO qualify ahead and just make a train behind.

Thank
SAINZ but my post was meant tongue in cheek; deliberately written after the fact as if pretending I'd predicted exactly what happened. Unfortunately, the smilies I'd included in order to help give the lie to my subtlety did not appear!
;)
Aha! This one works!

Thanks anyway.
