Ferrari have serious problems. Not only is their team principal weak, but he also has poor judgement. Di Resta at the front of the queue This is Ferrari, not the midfield. If they do replace Massa, I can only hope Luca takes Hulkenburg. EDIT: That would explain this: http://www1.skysports.com/formula-1...ultimate-for-him-as-he-eyes-2014-move-up-grid
Imagine how much he'd whinge getting thrashed by Alonso every race. I wouldn't begrudge him a top drive - he's one of the select few midfielders who are there on ability - if Hulkenberg wasn't far more deserving of it. He should've been in contention for the Red Bull the seat, and McLaren last year, hopefully he'll get the Ferrari drive because I can't see there being room for him at Sauber next year.
Jean-Eric Vergne told his STR seat is safe if he is overlooked by Red Bull - http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/108995
The problem with Hulk is he may just be a little too good to fit in with Ferrari's status quo. Di Resta would provide an upgrade on Massa without threatening Alonso.
I liked it better when we were talking about Raikkonen to Red Bull and Hulk to Lotus so I'm going to pretend that's happening.
Yeah, Hulk more than anyone deserves a top drive and we deserve to see what he can achieve. I agree with JC though that he may be too good to be Alonso's bitch and the thought of di Resta blaming everyone after every race does have a certain appeal but not in a serious way.
Hulk's turning into the new Webber in his desperate bad luck when it comes to getting a good seat. Just as Webber ended up at Red Bull just before they came good, I think his time will come.
I think Di Resta could beat Alonso. After all, he did beat Vettel in F3, and Vettel beats Alonso all the time, so by that logic, Di Resta should have no problems at all
RBR: Vettel / Ricciardo *Helmut Marko convinces team to pick Daniel over Kimi. Ferrari: Alonso / Di Resta *Hulk considered too strong for Alonso. Lotus: Kimi / Hulk *Gets Hulk on the cheap, Grosjean fired. Mercedes: Hamilton / Rosberg McLaren: Jenson / Perez Force India: Sutil / Frijns *Robin picked as performances of last year for FI help get them more sponsors and pick better drivers. Toro Rosso: Vergne / Da Costa Sauber: Bianchi / Sirotkin *Russians might bring in all the money, but Sauber will back Bianchi for performance. Williams: Maldonado / Bottas Marussia: Nasr / Magnussen Caterham: Ceccotto / Grosjean FIRED: Esteban will no longer be needed as Perez is already hitting big time for Mexico. Chilton will no longer be needed to fund team, Nasr will have Brazil backing him and Magnussen with McLaren tech. Massa will retire after Ferrari say their goodbyes. Pic will lose against Grosjean with sponsors and speed. VDG will lose out to mad man Checcoto and his oil money.
Anyway how have we all still ignored this critical fact, Kimi's race engineer moved from Lotus........TO RB!
I can't see it happening, they're in the wilderness a bit in terms of intra-team politics, severed from Mercedes and Force India, they have a tie with Marussia but Marussia are running Ferrari engines next year and that deal surely involves Bianchi having drive. I can't see Ferrari allowing McLaren to run their young driver there after stealing Ferrari's young driver last year. Daddy Chilton will want to keep Max at Marussia. Their best bet would be to drop Perez, but they want his Telmex money. I hope he doesn't get Bottas's seat.
