The thing with the spuds though is that they always find a way to bottle it. Subconsciously they realise that they are not in the same league as Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd and when it looks like they might find a way to come close, they inadvertently find a way to sabotage it. It's built into their psyche. It's like the ugly kid who is chasing a beautiful girl, he tries and tries, but deep down he knows that he's never going to get her. The same with the spuds, they try different ways to try and get up there with the big boys, but ultimately their own story is one of glorifying failure, heroism in trying, but falling short. It's a self fulfiling prophecy that the spuds are always bound to repeat They are the ugly fat kid of the premier league.
The draw to Man Utd in the CL which we should have won. That stupid loss to Barnsley moments after Portsmouth had just dumped out Man U + the silly last minute goals conceded against Spurs and Wigan.
This seems to resonate with you, PESKIE. Tell us, did you manage to get the girl? School kids can be cruel. I do hope you've been able to recover something of your dignity. When do you go back to school?
Enough about Piskie Your obsession grows daily! Ps. Herbert! Did you get your man?? heard your arse is like the Japanese flag.
That's a valiant effort on your part, Ozzie, to try to save your friend, PESKIE from my superbly witty put-down, although a little too vulgar to be considered intellectual. Your loyalty does you credit, but.. come on! My put-down was very funny, wasn't it?
Of course it does, I've been watching Spurs try and fail for the last two decades It's an analogy though, I'll explain what one of those is to you another time so that you can understand the comment properly. Even Bill Nicholson your esteemed spudling holds up failure for spurs as something to be proud of. You've got it emblazoned all over your board's page. 'Even failure will have an echo of glory in it' Spuds = Glorifying failure
Lets just say that I have known Piskie since 2009 back in the BBC days whilst remaining fierce rivals we remain friends and love having the banter. On the other hand you cannot! You're up & down like a fiddlers elbow. Great at handing it out but fragile with an unimaginative childish banality when it comes back. You have no gumption as to how much you are despised by your peers on this forum yet you persist in cringeworthy crassness. Shameful
If you're thinking of Sandy Brown the infamous dozy spud wum, then it's possible I suppose. Both of their posting styles are similar. But in this instance, HIAG has earned the name Sandy, due to having it pointed out to him that since his meltdown at the end of last season, he has - and I quote 'Grown a Vag and proceeded to get sand in it at every given opportunity'
PESKIE, I take it that you are fully aware that you are known, far and wide, as the wum-mod of Not606, a disgrace to your board and to this site?
It did cross my mind that you might have meant Jol but then I dismissed it as you couldn't possibly be claiming that a manager who had won 1 in 10 league games was sacked for "no reason". I'd go into the rest of it properly except I think you had forgotten how bad we'd done in the season he was sacked.
A complete misunderstanding (as usual - I can't really make out whether you are incredibly stupid or merely wumming). When Bill Nicholson took over Spurs he set a target for the Club to win the Double, which at the time was considered impossible. Thus the target was so high 'that failure would have an echo of glory'. He actually achieved the target and followed it up by retaining the Cup and winning the first European trophy for a British club. Hardly glorifying failure.
