How reliable is wikipedia? Gervinho

Take one look at Obafemi Martins and tell me DoB's can't be opinion based.

 

"Gervinho was born from Chieck Tiotes left nipple"

 

I remember referencing Wiki in my 3rd year (think it was), found out the truth about the site not longer afterwards.

 

A few years ago me and a friend invented an Irish poet and gave him a page on Wikipedia to screw with someone we knew who was doing an essay on Irish poetry at the time. It was eventually taken down so we put it back up again and claimed he was a church organist from Cork in Ireland (drink + internet sometimes makes you do these things); putting a reference on there as an old book called 'Dictionary of Organists' which we obviously made up, but it turns out weirdly that the book actually exists and so because of that, the page is still up there.

So yeah, Wikipedia is reliable as hell obviously..

His page has grown substantially shorter through time though, seems like people have been picking up on the most obvious bullshit that was in there, I think he only had one arm at first.

Somebody else also seems to have put him on this page too, with a reference to the imaginary book:

If you google him he has his own Facebook page and loads of websites have information about him taken from wikipedia . I would add loads more but I think mods check stuff when major updates are made and I like the fact that he's still there.
