QPR Facebook says Harry is targeting four or five new signings before the start of the season in 7 days. Should be a busy week then!
Will we never learn? This policy can't continue. We either learn to live with what we have and make one or two great additions ( Like most other clubs ) or we clear the lot out and start from scratch. This is getting silly now.
Sadly, seems we do not learn. So everything we've had so far this off season means nothing. All the bonding, practice, skills test, fitness regime, games, camps, stand for zip ................... why? Cause we are about to completely disrupt, ( for the third season in a row mind you ) the team as a whole, to rush in half a team of players, to completely undo any good we have achieved to date. Everyone makes mistakes but a fool makes the same mistake, again. Yes, we all want to see new players but as many of you have already mention, not the same wrong tactics deployed, again. Hope I'm proven wrong.
He thinks we need four forwards, one who will injured soon, one who is already injured for the season and one who could be banged up. We will be down to one or two forwards very soon. Exactly the same as last season when that twat thought it was a good idea to go with three towards.
Grrrrrrrreeeaaaaaaattttttt...... Now all we need to hear from old Arry is that he believes that they can GEL quickly. Know wot I mean, son?
Not an ideal situation but really a result of our crap transfer policy the last 2-3 years, before able to strengthen this time around there is/was a need to cut some of the high earners/deadwood. To that fact there's still some definite departures + a few possible to be sorted including: Boswinga, Barton, Mbia, Cesar, Granero Ferdinand, Park, Diakite Young, Taarabt, Ephraim, Hoilett, Traore So out of the current 32 man squad with Mackie gone & question mark hanging over 13+ so we could be left with just around 18-20 so another 4-5 signings may well be needed.
sadly we are still sorting out the mistakes from the past. there was no way tony was going to bring in more players before he got rid of some he had already got. also he had to get rid of a few of the ones he wanted to keep as the ones we thought we could get rid no one wanted. august is the time when most people buy and sell the players. this merry go round is not going to stop if the plan is to go straight up. sadly mark did a lot of damage last season by not building a team he built a squad of players. to be fair to harry he seems to have sorted out the back four, we might need another centre back. we have enough mid fielders to be covered there. all we need now is some attacking option. that should do us for this season. its not perfect. i don't think the team will need that much time to gel i think Harry showed that he can get players and get them playing reasonable well. But that should be it. we can now work around that for a season or two adding a few players here and there to strengthen what we have
This with bells on - we should have done our business early and, failing that, dig our heels in and make the best of what we have. One or two more - yes. Upheaval - no.
I'm not so pessimistic. How do we know he isn't looking for cover for positions already sorted? However, Flyer makes a fair comment re the strike force.
A creative midfielder, a winger who can beat his man and deliver an accurate cross, a striker and a utility defender. That would be a squad capable of a sustained challenge, so hopefully some of these will be incoming, last night showed they are nowhere near top six yet...
Looking at the bench last night, and the players queuing by the exit door, we will certainly need 4-5 players to sustain a Championship season. Can't see the problem - he will already have his nucleus to start the season, the others will need to get their fitness (Dunne!) and earn their way into the match day team. Need to see some quality though. As much as Hill/Derry are not the future, neither are Dunne/Henry/Zamora/AJ.
crouch has said he's staying at stoke and Parker was meant to have been offered a new deal so I think both of those are non starters. I'm struggling to think of anyone else.
Totally agree! The creative midfielder will be difficult, unless Harry and Adel can kiss and make up. Townsend is the obvious winger. A third goalkeeper (assuming that Cesar has gone) is also needed.
