Its the one he did against arsenal , started off straight, looped around craven cottage picking up speed and buried itself in the net :D

Do many Spurs fans really deny that our club have bought a lot of crap players over the years? I certainly don't and most Spurs fans usually have to laugh about the crap we've had at the club over the years. Even Tramezzani the "virtual free transfer" cost us about £1.5mill, which was quite a lot back then. In Sugar's reign wee were a mess with most of our signings whether they were players or managers. ****ing Christian Gross!

As for Levy, for the most part he's been signing the cheques, the managers and then DoFs like Arnesen and Comolli decided who we went for. It's only since Redknapp's first year that he really took over more quality control for our signings and did pretty well, to be honest. I've no idea why Goons and Chavs hate Levy so much but I think it means he's doing a good job, most Spurs fans are certainly happy with him :)

Quite the opposite. I think he's held you back.

He sacked the best manager you had for no real reason & stripped your squad to the bear bones when you were chasing the title 2 seasons ago. Starting last season with 5 goalkeepers and only 2 strikers also hindered you massively.

agree with this to an extent, don't hate him at all and he has certainly made you into more of a force since being properly in charge however I wouldn't be best pleased if our chariman insisted on countless occasions that a player wasn't for sale, only to sell him a few months later.

I agree. Levy has definitely done some good things but he isn't the messiah some make him out to be. Sacking Jol put Spurs back 3/4 years at a crucial time when Arsenal were very vulnerable. Levy has also cost Spurs a Champions League spot for the last 3 seasons running. It's possible that Spurs might have been able to keep hold of Berbatov & Modric had they been able to secure CL football in that period.

Levy also dealt AVB a poor hand last season by selling off their two most creative players and leaving him with Sigurdson and Dempsey. But for Bale playing out of his skin, Gary Neville is right in saying they may not have finished top 8.

I think ENIC have taken Spurs as far as they can and its time to pass them onto somebody else that can keep them competitive whilst building the new stadium, I don't think Levy will be able to do that.

In fairness Mourinho wasn't sacked, but the fundamental difference was we had a group of players with a winning mentality. Steve Clarke effectively used the same training methods as Mourinho and we were just 2 silly defeats and 2 draws away from winning the unprecedented Quadruple.

Definitely. I think also last season the big mistake in terms of sales was the sale of van der Vaart, I think he was absolutely brilliant for them and they'd have probably made the top four with him imo as he was almost like having a striker at times. I know that was probably out of Levy's hands as I think VDV wanted to leave to go back to Germany but he should've parted water in order to keep him imo.

Paulinho could be the Modric replacement they've needed and if they sign Soldado and keep Bale I think they'll put a good challenge in for a CL spot this season.

I agree. Many have long felt Spurs have at least as good a starting XI as Arsenal but nowhere near the squad depth. Having got rid of the deadwood it's important Levy can build a squad able to cope with the number of games they have to play. Important that he gives AVB a chance though.

Best manager? I assume you're talking about under his tenure but there were plenty of reasons to sack Redknapp as you well know.

    When was our squad barebones?

5 'keepers? It was 4, one left in January and another we've been trying to get rid of for ages and went out on loan in January. Strikers wasn't what AVB wanted anyway, he was happy with the situation and more concerned with trying to get Moutinho in. It was a joint mistake and had Adebayor shown anywhere near the kind of form he did in the previous season then we'd have been fine. It wasn't the number of strikers so much as our best striker taking a huge dive in form and then pissing off to the ACON which we were told he wouldn't do.

If you think he's held us back in taking us from a midtable side to competing for a top 4 place against opposition that are vastly outspending us then long may he continue to hold us back.

Redknapp? No he was a clown, I was on about Jol. I couldn't believe you got rid of him.

Chelsea & Arsenal have been extremely weak in recent years, there was a massive opportunity for Spurs and IMO Levy stopped you from usurping both. back-to-back seasons in the CL would have done you and world of good and earnt you bucket loads in the process which could go towards the new stadium and keep hold of your better players.
