It happened. Saw every minute of it. Absolutely dreadful violence.

1st league ground i visited was Preston in the 50s. we were staying at Blackpool on holidays Preston v Blackpool Finey v Matthews.
Remember no segregation in 60s we took the leasers (when it was there main end about 66/67. Wyn Davies was gona murder us but Neil Martin scored 2 in a 3-0 win. With 30 mins to go we'd took the hole ground as the mags had all foooked off home. of cause no mag on here will remember as it was before 1992. yes nufc did exist before Keegan. but you couldn't get 10,000 for either of Ardiles's last 2 games.

They were throwing darts, coins and the steel balls out of ball bearings at us causing a few bad injuries. At kids with dads and grandparents, When the ground filled, they got a bit of a kicking and left the ground either before or just after kick off.

So its is technically correct, they took the Fulwell end when us kids were in, but when the big boys came they ran like ****.

    typical

Spurs. Under Denis Smith. 3-1 up, and Lineker scored 2 for a 3-3 draw.

Lineker was my idol but I was torn, as I was 11 and really starting to become a 'die hard' Sunderland fan.

Ultimately, those 2 late goals by my idol sent us down. Jug eared ****.

Honestly can't remember. So many games over sooooo many years. Started going when I was six or seven, which would be the very late 1960s.

Fark, but I've witnessed some ****e in that time <doh>

Rotherham 1963-64 season drew 2-2. Cant recall who scored, but hey we got promoted that year. There ground was an absolute shambles, market stalls still erected on parts of the standing area.

Stamford Bridge in 1991. The FA cup. John Byrne scored and we drew 1-1. Stamford bridge was a **** hole back then.
I also went to the replay at Roker Park when Gordon Armstrong scored with that bullet of a header and me and my mate ran onto the pitch, the one and only time I've been on the pitch. Great great night.

I was there too. The policing at SB made the Gestapo look like Dixon of Dock Green. Horrible place...

Wolves! The game where Gordon Armstrong and John Byrne got sent off in the first 10 minutes. The only English league game that has ever had 2 players sent off fit swearing flippantly at a linesman!

I was there for that. That goal was exceptional. Lionel Pérez was in no mans land though but credit to Cantona for spotting him.

Me and my dad where sat in the United end and we literally sulked for the full match. When Cantona scored that goal though, even we got up and applauded. Pure genius that bloke!
